Chapter 12

Josephines POV

Ever since the day at school everyone has left me alone, no more bullies no more jokes. They are all scared of Lena,

Ruby and I have became really good friends too, I don't think she knows anything about my past which is good, we talk a lot and she has stayed over at the penthouse a good bit,

Also since the day I yelled at Lena, I didn't mean it but still I haven't gotten in "trouble" since, it was nice to be able to not worry about getting beat all the time too,

Karas sister Alex was also dating Ruby's mom which was cool, if they ever get married then Ruby and I would be cousins, and besides her I don't really have any friends,

But Kara just dropped me off for school again since Lena couldn't, even though I was just here yesterday and they want me to come back tomorrow!? What kind of shit it that,

I got our of her car and made my way to my first period class. Let the games begin

Karas POV

Lena and I haven't gotten together this week for our lunches, she has been really busy with the company and she didn't even come home last night, I'm starting to worry about her, before Jo she would only eat if I were there with her and that was only lunch most of the time, she hasn't even talked to me today, she must be too busy.

Either way I was still going over to see her during lunch which started 5 minutes ago, I just left Noonans with our lunch and headed over to L-Corp

"Hey Jess" I tell her assistant walking in

"Hey Kara" she smiles

"Is Lena in there?" I ask

"Um no she is in her lab," she says and I nod

"And how do I get there?" I ask

"Well Ms.Luthor doesn't let anyone down there" she explains

"Jess, please" I say and she nods showing me how to get down

What could she be working on for so long, is a simple text too much to ask from her,

I sigh and walk into the lab which I had to take an elevator to get here

"Kara?" She questions when I walk in, I had left our lunch in her office

"Yea it's me, Kara. Your roommate, your friend. The women you share custody of a 14 year old with" I say with my hands on my hip

"Oh calm down don't be so dramatic" she says and puts lids on what ever she is working with and turns around

"Lena I'm not being dramatic" I say and she smiles

"Why are you smiling?" I sigh

" because you care" she says, is she really this stupid right now

"Lena are you kidding me!? Of course I care about you, I love you and I don't like not hearing from you" I say and she walks over to me and puts her arms around me and pulls me into a hug

"I'm sorry I didn't call or text, I was just busy but I know I promised you I wouldn't work over night unless it was last resort and come home to you and Jo, and Kara. I love you too" she says and I hold on a little tighter

" I brought you lunch" I tell her

"Kara I'm too-" she begins to say

"Lee no, you need to take care of yourself" I interrupt her

"But Kara"

"No buts, now come on, you can resume what ever it is your doing later" I say and she sighs but puts it down and comes with me back to her office

"Are you coming home tonight?" I ask her and she nods

"Yes, I will be home at 6 I promise" she says

"Thank you" I say

"Anyway, how did you find my lab?" She ask me

"Well Um, I made Jess tell me" I say and she chuckles

"That's okay, you have access to anything here" she tells me,

Josephines POV

I told Kara I would just walk back to the house today. I wanted to stop by the park and do some homework, I always liked coming here. Mainly to get away from the orphanage but also I liked the outdoors, I always wanted to play a sport but was never able to and now It's too late to start,

I sat down on a familiar bench and got my homework out, science first, then math. I had to draw a landscape for my art class. I don't even like art but it was just put in my schedule and I'm not one to complain to the school.

I finished all my work rather easily today and just sat on the bench on my phone, checking Instagram, I never had any social media before so this was a change but it's a good change, like there are so many parties I could go to but Lena would kill me so I choose not too, plus I'm not the party type

I was just about to to leave when I looked up and seen a familiar face, Emery. She is a little older then the last time I saw her, which is what happens when you don't see your sister in years. She looks happy, really skinny but happy. I mean she must have a good home for them to bring her to the park. I debated going to talk to her but decided against it. I don't want to ruin what she has with her new family.

This time I got a up and started to walk away when I felt a little tap on my shoulder

"Josephine?" She questions and I turn around and there she stood, my seven year old sister,

"Hi Em" I say and she hugs me and buries her head in my neck,

"Josephine where are you going?" She ask me

"I have to go back with the family I am with" I say

"Now?" She ask me and I look at the time. It's almost 5 and that's when Kara said I needed to get back, but I don't want to miss a chance to be with my sister

"No, I don't need to yet" I smile and she hugs me tighter

I took out my phone and quickly texted Kara to tell her I would be home late and walked over to the bench with Emery

"Do you have a family?" I ask her and she looks down and pints over to some people

"Yea, but they aren't very nice" she sighs

"Why not?" I ask and she shows me a bruise on her stomach

"They are mean and they have another kid and he hurts me a lot" she says and I look over at this other kid

"I'm sorry Em" I say and pull her into me

"I can come with you?" She ask me, all I want to say is yes, of course she can but I don't answer yet and she looks down

"Oh" she sighs

"Wait Em, where do you live?" I ask and she points to a blue house on the end of the street,

"I have a plan"
