Chapter 18

Karas POV

It was just me and the kids today, Lena had to go work on something in her lab and I don't work weekends anyhow,

I was up well before the kids and decided to just make some lunch for when they got up, Em was really loving her new room, she played from the time we got home till it was time for bed,

Around 11 and the girls hadn't came out yet and I finished lunch I went to check on them both,

Emery was awake just quietly playing on the floor,
When I opened the door she jumped back a little

"I'm sorry I know I wasn't supposed to be out of bed but I wanted to play" she says

"Why couldn't you get out of bed?" I ask picking her up and sitting down on the bed with her

"Because you have to wait until the adult tells you, you can get up" she says looking up at me

"Oh hunny I'm sorry, you don't have to wait for Lena and I, if your awake you can get up" I say

"Really?" She ask

"Really, now you want some lunch?" I ask and she nods as we go out to the kitchen.

Once I get her some lunch Jo comes out of her room

"Sleep good?" I chuckle and nods

"Yea" she says and sits down

"Are you okay?" I ask

"Yea, my stomach just hurts" she says,

"Maybe some  food will help?" I suggest putting a plate down in front of her

"Thank you" she says

"Your welcome" I smile and sit down next to her,

"Where's Lena?" Emery ask

"She had to go to work for a little" I say and she nods

"Is Alex your sister?" She ask

"She is" I smile, Alex was supposed to call Eliza soon and see when a good time for a visit would be,

"I'm done" Emery says

"Okay, go put your plate in the sink" I say and she gets up putting her plate in the sink and going back to her room, followed my Jo not long after. I decided to catch up on some reading while the kids were busy.

"Hey Kara" Emery says about half an hour later climbing into my lap

"What up?" I ask her, running my fingers through her hair, her and Jo both have a light brunette colored hair,

"Nothing, I just want to sit with you" she says leaning back against my chest,

"Aren't you all cuddly" I chuckle and she blushes

We decided to watch Frozen and she was singing along to "Let It Go" when I heard Jo yell for me

"Kara" she yells

"I'll be back" I tell Emery  and she nods and I go into Jos room,

"Where you at?" I say when I don't see her on her bed

"In here" she says from inside the bathroom

"Are you okay?" I ask on the other side of the door

"Um yea?"

"But. I think I got my period" she says, being Kryptonian I have never had to deal with that but living with Alex as teenagers I got my fair share of that
