Chapter 10

Waverly's POV

I sat down on my bed, and Wyatt sat right next to me. He turned to me and asked, "So, you nervous for the Wedding?"

"Huh!?"

What wedding!?

"Uh, Wyatt, what wedding, what are you talking about?" I instantly asked, freaking out.

"Oh, you know, the wolf tradition... wait! You don't know, of course," Wyatt mentally face-palmed.

"Um, what wolf tradition?" I asked, tense.

He took a deep breath, "Well, there is this wolf tradition that, well, this is a better example, you know how you guys have dating and then fiancee's and all that, well, we don't. Like, asking someone to be your girlfriend is just like proposing to them. Do you understand what I'm saying?" He explained.

I sat there in shock, eyes wide and face drained of all its blood. Once I thought about it for a second, I snapped back to reality and went off on Wyatt, "HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW THAT!"

"I'm so sorry, Wave, it must have passed right through my head. Can you forgive me?" He apologized with puppy dog eyes.

"I don't know Wyatt, of course I love you and want to be with you, but I'm still really young. I'll just have to think about it," I sighed, looking down at my hands.

"I completely understand. Once again, I'm so sorry for not telling you about this beforehand. Just come to me when you have reached your decision and I'll respect whatever it may be. Just remember," he turned to look me in the eyes, "I love you and want to spend the rest of my life with you, Waverly, and I know that we haven't known each other for long, but that doesn't matter to me." He then kissed me on the forehead and left the room, with just me and my overthinking mind.

I laid down on the bed and closed my eyes. I took a couple of deep breaths and looked at my phone. 3 missed calls. Great.

I picked up my phone and looked at the contact. Addison.

"I wonder what she wants?" I whisper to myself.

I call her back and instantly she picks up the call.

Addison: Oh my god, I thought something bad happened to you! You weren't picking up my calls and, and!

Waverly: Addi, calm down, I'm fine, why did you call me in the first place, though?

Addison: I started talking to someone, and I think I like him.

Waverly: that's great, Addi! I'm so proud of you for not letting Zed stop you from dating again!

Addison: Did you have to bring up that cheating prick, Wave.

Waverly: Oh, sorry. Anyway, what's his name?

Addison: Emilio Wellens

Waverly: Oh! I know him! Guess what! He's a werewolf too!

Addison: Really!? Yay!

Waverly: Just don't let him ask you to be his girlfriend!

Addison: Why?

Waverly: I'll tell you. Well, last night, Wyatt asked me to be his girlfriend, but today I learned that in werewolf culture, asking someone to be their girlfriend or whatever is the same as proposing!

Addison: Oh my God! Does that mean your... getting married!?

Waverly: Well there's the problem, I knew nothing about this tradition when he asked me, so I'm just thining everything over. What do you think I should do?

Addison: For one thing, we can't have this conversation over the phone, I'm going over there this second.

Waverly: But..

She then hung up the phone. Just great, she'll probably get lost in the woods.

I walked out of my bedroom and out of the den to go find Addison. Because of her obnoxious perfume she wears too much of, it didn't take any time to track her down.

As soon as I spotted her, I ran and threw my arms around her, hugging her tighter than usual.

"Come on, Adds, let's get to the den so we can talk about what's happening," I whisper in her ear. It felt comforting to have my "sister" now cousin here.

We made our way through the overgrown woods and to the large rock I call home. We go in, avoiding all the gazes we get from my fellow wolves, and head straight to my bedroom.

We sit down on my bed facing each other. I study Addi's face. She looks a lot less sad and a lit happier now that she has Zed out of her head.

"What should I do, Addi," I confide.

"Well, what way are you leaning, are you leaning to marrying him or not?"

"That's the thing, I want to eventually marry him, but just not right now," I sigh.

"Then that's your answer. All you have to tell him is that you want to wait a little longer, but you will eventually marry him, simple." She advised, patting my shoulder.

"Wow! That was simple! Thank you Addi," I hug her and she hugs back.

We sit there talking about random stuff for a good 10 minutes before I come up with an idea.

"Hey, Addi, do you still want to get revenge on Zed?" I ask, rubbing my hands together maniacally.

"You know what, yes. Yes I do!" She perks up, also rubbing her hands maniacally.

"Okay, so hows this, you know how he is terrified of werewolves, well I was thinking that we could all show up after school, corner him, and make it look like we were gonna attack him, and then after that, we can hang him on the flagpole by his underwear, you know, for a laugh," I suggested.

"That's perfect, thanks!" She giggles and we start talking a little more.

Sooner than later, it was nightfall and she asked if she could spend the night here, which of course I agreed to. She called her mom and told her she was staying the night and we got in bed. And to end the night, I had to make the joke about asking if she could stay with Emilio, for which she just gave me a pissed look, which made me laugh. What would I do without her.

A/N

First off, pretend that werewolves can also just have last names with w in it, I couldn't find a good Hispanic name beginning with w. Thank you for reading and I hope you liked it. For everyone in school, are you guys excited to finally almost be out? Because I am! Also, whenever I finish this book, what would you guys want me to write next, just as long as it isn't another Wyatt story, I don't think I could watch the movie another 39 times to make it! Just comment what it should be, it could be a Harry Potter character, Hunger games, or anything. Anyway, have a good day👍
