SONIC'S POV
"I lied,but she doesn't need to know about this..."
Sonic ran back at his house and left his communicator in there.
"If I want to save Tails,I must keep it a secret.At least until I discover where he is.Shadow's apparition yesterday just warned me about Tails.I am pretty sure he is with my bud.But I can't understand why he is doing all of these."
He left the village in a flash and went straight to the cave where Shadow lives.Before going in,he decided to examine the terrain.
"Nothing suspicious here."
He was about to break in the cave,but a familiar voice stopped him.
"Oh,Sonic.I'm so glad to see you.I'm on vacation,you know?Ah,I forgot to tell you that Tails is coming too."
Eggman was in his eggmobile.Sonic was confused.
"Eggface?What are you doing here?"
"Just came to help an old friend to annihilate you,am I right Shadow?"
The mysterious hedgehog came out from the cave.
"I'm not your friend,or anything.But yeah,this time you're the little doggy who's standing in my way."
"Where's Tails,you jerk?!"
"He's right there,buddy.Unconscious and waiting for you to save him"said Eggman showing Sonic on a tablet a video live with Tails lying somewhere in a cave.
"WHERE IS HE?!IS HE IN THERE?"said Sonic and pointed at Shadow's cave.
"He is somewhere else,faker.Don't act like a baby"said Shadow rolling his eyes.
Sonic was about to hit Shadow but Eggman stopped him.
"One more step,Sonic,and your little friend dies."the old man showed him a red button.
"If I press this button,the place where Tails is right now will explode."
Sonic stopped.He was stressed out.
"What am I going to do now?"
He sighed.
"Ok,what do i have to do if I want Tails back ALIVE?"
"Your pathetic friend is somewhere far away from here.If you help me find all the chaos emeralds,I'll show you the way to him.And if you don't,your buddy dies."
"Oh come on,you're the ultimate life form..You can get them without me."
"You're right,I can.I got almost all of them.There is only one left,and I need you to get it."
"And if I get it,will you give Tails back?How do I know you're not lying?"
"What do you prefer?There are only two options.You listen to me,or he dies."
"Fine,but I want to make sure you come with me and don't hurt my friends while I'm gone."
"I'm going with you,Sonic."
"I have one question left.Why do you need the chaos emeralds?Does this have something to do with an evil plan?"
"It's none of your business.In this game is your friend's life.Don't ever forget that."
Sonic sighed.He just really got in trouble this time.He can't tell anyone about this,and he doesn't even want that.If one of his friends will know about this situation they will get in the way and eventually get hurt.This game was dangerous but he needed to play it for his little buddy.And if one of them needs to die,then the hero will sacrifice his own life.
"What do I have to do now?"
"We are going straight to the next emerald.It's going to be a long way to it."
"At least I'm helping too,am I right,Shads buddy?"said Eggman exited
"Don't call me that,buffon.Faker,that's the way,you should hope you'll come back."
"What was the last thing,again?"
"Nothing."said Shadow annoyed.
"Nothing important.."repeated him again,but smiling this time.
