Y/N's POV

I got the call from Alfred. I got back home as fast as I could. I see Bruce.

Y/N: Bruce!

Bruce: Y/N! Right on time. Let's get in.

Y/N: Right behind you.

We walk inside. We see the cops around the Manor, they are taking stuff.

Bruce: Hey! Hey, careful! Put it back!

Gordon: I'm afraid we can't, Mr. Wayne.

Y/N: Says who?

Gordon: This warrant.

Bruce takes the warrant.

Y/N: There's gonna be a mistake.

Gordon: That's what we are here to find out. Maybe we made a mistake. Maybe you guys did.

We see Alfred.

Bruce: Alfred, keep an eye on them. Make sure they take only what they have to.

Alfred: Of course, sir.

Me and Bruce walk away. Gordon follows us.

Gordon: I meant what I said about "not personal." We only want files related to Wayne Enterprises.

Bruce: Who authorized this?

Gordon: I know you and the D.A. are buddy-buddy, but this one came from the top. It's a valid warrant, I gotta serve it. Mayor Hill signed off on this himself.

Y/N: So you just do whatever Mayor Hill says?

Gordon: Hill and I... we have a vested interest to keep things professional. For Gotham's sake. Doesn't mean I like the words whistling through his windpipes. I dunno how your guys necks ended up on Mayor Hill's chopping block, but here we are.

Bruce: Hill knows if I go down, Harvey's campaign goes down too.

Gordon: That'd be a real shame. Mr. Dent's the only D.A. I ever trusted to make a conviction stick. As mayor, I think he can finally turn things around for us. For all our sakes, I pray you've got nothing to hide.

Gordon walks away. We hear a crack. It was a picture a cop knocked down. Bruce's parents. I watch as he picks it up. I hear someone walk in. It was Vicki Vale.

Vicki: Hey Y/N.

Y/N: Hello.

She looks at Bruce.

Vicki: Bruce?

Bruce looks at her.

Vicki: I... I didn't mean to interrupt, but...

Bruce: It's not a problem, really.

Vicki: Bruce, Y/N, first the Mayor's office, now Wayne Manor... Gotham continues its streak of break-ins.

Bruce: Really going for the record, huh?

Vicki: Listen, Bruce... A scandal, surrounding a beloved family like yours, captures the public's attention. I can help you and Y/N get the right kind of attention.

Y/N: We appreciate the offer, Ms. Vale.

Bruce: Trying to say, "I'm the good guy here"—

Vicki: Yeah, instantly makes you look bad. I get it... so let me say it for you. The Gazette received this supposed "evidence" like every other media outlet. And it's all hearsay. Flimsy sources. There isn't a shred of hard proof.

Y/N: Still, allegations like this... they don't just magically appear.

Bruce: Someone is going after my family, after me.

Vicki: Obviously, the sender didn't identify themselves. We have no idea who it could be.

Bruce: Hill wants me out of the picture because with my backing Harvey wins in a landslide. All signs point to Hill.

Vicki: You're a kingmaker, Mr. Wayne, and Harvey Dent is Gotham's knight in shining armor just waiting for the crown. You are the first target on Hill's list. By tonight, this scandal will be broadcast to every screen in Gotham. Everyone will be talking about it.

Bruce: This isn't my first pass through the rumor mill— I know the damage it can do.

Vicki: Then go on the record— right here, right now— and stop it.

Bruce: On the record then.

Vicki: Whenever you're ready.

Bruce: The Wayne family has always been a cornerstone of Gotham. We have never had, and never will have, connections to organized crime.

Vicki: That's exactly what the people of Gotham need to hear.

Vicki starts to walk out the door, Alfred opens it for her.

Vicki: You're going to beat this, Bruce and Y/N. The Waynes always come out on top.

Y/N: Goodbye Ms. Vale.

Vicki smiles. She walks out. Alfred closes the door.

Alfred: I hate to admit it... but everyone smells smoke. A fire is heading this way.

Y/N: Batman and Robin has made plenty of enemies.

Bruce: But my family? We've done nothing but support Gotham, even in its darkest days.

Alfred: All this... on the anniversary of your parent's...

Y/N: It's not a coincidence.

Bruce: Harvey's the District Attorney, he should've told me this was coming.

Alfred: Then find out why he didn't.

Me and Bruce nod.

Bruce: I'll call him. We'll meet at Cafe Triste.

Y/N: I'll come with you.
