Chapter 34: Tracking down Alfred

Y/N's POV

Bruce: Y/N! Y/N! Come on damnit!

I slowly wake up, I'm in the Batcave. I am laying down on a table.

Y/N: B-Bruce...

Bruce: Y/N! Easy, easy. You'll okay. You're going to be okay.

Y/N: Alfred...

Bruce: We're going to get him back.

I slowly sit up. Bruce then hugs me softly, to not hurt me. I hug back.

Bruce: You were in horrible condition.

I look at myself, I am shirtless, and I have bandages and patches all over my body.

Bruce: Are you able to walk?

Y/N: One way to find out.

I slowly get off the table, I slowly started walking. Each step hurt, but I can manage.

Y/N: How will we find Alfred?

Bruce: Lady Arkham left a video, it's on the Batcomputer. Lucius is on his way over here as well.

Y/N: Let's see it.

Bruce: Got it.

We walk over to the Batcomputer, Bruce plays the video.

Lady Arkham: Bruce Wayne... You should be rotting in a padded cell. Now your butler-- The man who raised you like his own son-- will suffer in your place. But don't worry.

The camera then shows Alfred.

Lady Arkham: You'll get him back eventually... Piece by bloody piece.

Lucius arrives.

Lucius: Alfred.

Lady Arkham starts hitting Alfred with her staff on repeat.

Lucius: My God....

Bruce: Alfred is paying for the things my family has done. I'm responsible for this.

Bruce looks at me.

Bruce: Look at what they done to Y/N.

Lucius then looks at me.

Lucius: Oh my god! Are you okay?!

Y/N: I'm fine.... Alfred needs to be found.

Lucius: Alright, well. Then let's get to work.

We continue to watch the video.

Y/N: Alfred keeps adjusting his glasses.

Bruce: The reflection... He's making sure I see the reflection in his glasses. He knows the batcomputer can use multiple reflection angles to recreate the room that he's in. And I can view the virtual image using my cowl.

Y/N: Woah.

Lucius: Good thinking, Alfred.

Bruce grabs his cowl.

Bruce: Okay Lucius, freeze frame on the first signal Alfred gives.

Lucius: Paint us a picture... Here we go.

Bruce puts on his cowl.

Short Timeskip

Bruce saw all of the images, we were able to track down the location.

Bruce: You are not going to believe this.

Lucius: What is it?

Bruce: Lady Arkham is back at the Vale House.

Y/N: Where she killed her foster parents.

Bruce: According to its records, it has a basement.

Lucius: Well... just in case she's expecting you.

A chamber arrived from under the Batcave floor.

Bruce: What is that?

The chamber opens, revealing a new batsuit.

Lucius: Something I almost didn't get to finish because of Penguin.... It's the most advanced version yet.

Bruce: Hmph... Lady Arkham will have no idea what I've got up these sleeves... Well done, Lucius.

Lucius: You've been long over due for an upgrade. This suit is beyond state of the art.

Y/N: I'm going too.

Bruce and Lucius looks at me.

Bruce: You're hurt, I don't wanna risk your life.

Y/N: I risk my life every night I put on that suit. I've fought through pain before. I can do this.

They stay silent.

Y/N: That night... you picked me up after my parents death. I became a member of this family. And I'll always fight for my family. Lady Arkham will pay for what she did to me and Alfred.

Bruce looks down.

Y/N: Two vs one will put the odds in our favor.

Bruce looks up at me.

Bruce: I guess so...

Y/N: Alfred needs Batman and Robin. Just like Gotham City does.

I extend my hand towards Bruce.

Y/N: Partners?

Bruce slowly smiles.

Bruce: You really are stubborn.

I smile.

Y/N: I think we both know where I got that from.

Bruce then shakes my hand.

Bruce: Partners.

Lucius: Well.... In that case....

Another chamber rises, it has a more advanced Robin suit.

Y/N: Woah...

Lucius: Didn't want you to think I forgot about you. You were also long overdue for an upgrade.

I smile.

Y/N: Let's get to work...

Me and Bruce suit up.

Robin: Time to kick Lady Arkham's ass.

Batman: This ends tonight.

Batman gets in the Batmobile and I get on the Redbird. We both drive out of the cave and head for Vales house.
