A week later

Y/N's POV

Me, Bruce, and Alfred are watching the news. Jack Ryder was talking about the events of last week. How Vicki Vale is presumed dead, that the Children of Arkham is stopped with the help of Batman and Robin.

Alfred: If the public knew the half of it...

Alfred opens up a bottle and pours a drink.

Y/N: It's better that they don't.

Alfred holds up a envelope.

Alfred: This came in the mail, it's unsigned.

Bruce takes it and opens it.

Bruce: Selina...

Alfred: With everything that's been going on... I haven't gotten a chance to thank you two for what you did, sacrificing your identities for my safety. But, uh... it was a dangerous thing to do.

Bruce: I needed to make her talk, and I thought she would talk to Bruce Wayne.

Y/N: And if Bruce Wayne could get her to talk, she would let you go.

Alfred: A good strategy. It was Bruce Wayne she wanted all along. And your ear...

Y/N: At least there's something left of it.

Bruce: Dr. Thompskins assured me it adds character.

Me and Alfred let out a laugh.

Alfred: That it does.

We look back at the TV.

Alfred: We'll get through this, Bruce and Y/N. Don't lose sight of the fact that you two have done some real good for Gotham.

Bruce: Lady Arkham, Penguin, Harvey...they won't be the last to threaten Gotham.

Alfred: Likely not. But you two will be ready. In the meantime, let us hope for some peace.

Bruce and Alfred toast for peace. We hear Jack Ryder on the news.

Jack: The damage done by the Children of Arkham has left Gotham a city in turmoil. Faith in those at the top has, perhaps irrevocably, been shaken. Acting Commissioner James Gordon has promised to speak out about the issue tonight during an emergency city-wide address.

We see Gordon on the news speaking.

Gordon: ...and I hope, despite the recent terror that's gripped our city, that Gotham's leading citizens will come out to show their support.

Jack: Will his token appointment be enough to regain the city's trust? It remains to be seen, but experts agree that...

Alfred turns off the TV.

Alfred: Gordon requested Gotham's leaders to stand behind him. Leaders like you... Let Gotham see who Bruce Wayne truly is, and let them know what you plan to do for its future.

Bruce: This could be a fresh start.

Alfred: For you, and for this city. Though, in Gotham, the only figures that can make as much impact as a Wayne...

Bruce: Is Batman and Robin.

Bruce looks at me and smiles, I smile back.

Alfred: You've helped this city tremendously, both as Bruce Wayne and Batman. And Y/N helped Batman as Robin. And those people, whether they don their cape or not, are people I am proud of and honored to call my friends.

Y/N: Thank you, Alfred.

Alfred smiles at me, then looks back at Bruce.

Alfred: So, what do you intend to do about tonight?
