Y/n is being held hostage and when her two saviours come to help her she recognises one of them as her ex boyfriend. Elijah mikaelson.

*someone barges through the door*

"Let her go"
"Haha make me Elijah"
"Elijah?"
"Y/n?"
"Elijah what are you doing here?"
"Saving you obviously"
"I'm sorry for leaving you"
"We'll talk later let's just get you out of here"

You were so confused you hadn't noticed the other guy beating up the man holding you hostage.

"Y/n why did you leave"
"Because I knew that klaus was going to kill me to get to you"
"Angel you know I would have protected you"
"I j-just didn't want you getting hurt"
"Well we can have a proper conversation back at mine"

You arrive back at Elijah ready to confront him about a few suspicions.

"Elijah I'm going to ask you some questions and please answer honestly"
"Okay my love anything."

I knew he was lying because I saw them together.

Flashback

I walk into the house after picking up some dinner. And I hear two people talking in the lounge.
"Should we tell her our dirty little secret"
"No we can't she'll leave me"
"She won't she'll be okay with it"
How can that filthy girl think I'd be okay with him cheating. No no no I can't be without him I'm going to go out come home and pretend I never heard that because otherwise it'll consume me.

"Elijah I heard her say something about a secret and then me leaving you"
"I had found something that could make you human again but I didn't know how to give it to you because I didn't know if you wanted it but I wanted you to have your old life again so I was going to drug you"
