Klaus and his broken heart

Klaus and the reader have been best friends for 100 years. Yep both of them are vampires. Y/n secretly has feelings for klaus even though he loves Caroline. He comes home one day crying over her and the reader can't take it. She ends up having to leave.

I'm cooking dinner in my kitchen on a Friday night. I know pretty boring but when you have lived for a hundred years you have done everything else you can do on a Friday. Tonight is pasta. I begin eating. Oh and I should also mention that this isn't my home. It's my best friend Klaus' I stay here a lot though. He is barely ever here he's always prancing of with Caroline. Elijah says I'm jealous but I'm struggling to come up with reasons I'm not.

I hear klaus open the door. He doesn't say anything which automatically worries me.
He walks in with a distraught look on his face.

"Y/n she kissed Tyler in front of me. She chose him"

"I'm sorry klaus"

"She doesn't love me back y/n she loves him"

"That really sucks I'm sorry" to be honest I'm hardly even listening to him I'm just in my thoughts. This is it my chance.

"Klaus I love you" I blurted out

"What?"

"Your my everything. My sunshine and my stars. There is no one I would rather be with than you klaus. I know you like Caroline but you belong with me and only me."

"Y/n I'm sorry"

"No don't say it please don't say it"

"But I love Caroline"

"Of course you do"

I walk up to my room and start packing my things. Klaus follows me upstairs. I turn around to see him standing in the door frame.

"Don't go love we are best friends and we always will be. I can forget about what you said everything will be fine darling"

"Problem is I can't forget about it"

I walk out the room towards the front door. I open it and start walking down the pavement.

"Y/n stop come back"

"My friends will come soon to Collect the rest of my stuff"

Klaus starts to cry as he watches me walk of into the darkness.

*3 years later*

Klaus is battling the witches. He has his hybrids and they are going full force. I was walking in the woods when the fight broke out. Something I forgot to mention is I recently developed powers. I became a with basically I'm no longer a vampire. Don't ask how it happened because I don't know all I know is someone called bonnie Bennet saved me in a battle. I see klaus get hurt and even though I hate him I have to help Him. I run in between everyone and use all my energy to tear them apart. They start fighting against me but klaus orders the hybrids to stop. Whereas the witches try to kill me. Until they succeed. My lifeless body falls to the ground as klaus runs over to me.

* one week later *

Klaus stands at my grave stone. Tears falling from his eyes. Obviously he doesn't know I'm watching over him but I want too because even though he destroyed me I'll always love him. Then he mutters something under his breath. Something that tears me apart.

"I wish I had known sooner that you were my soulmate"

He walks away.

Sometimes the people we love don't love us back.
