OK.

Aiden had already scared Aru to death yesterday.

So now, it was her turn.

Surprisingly, Aiden returned to the library the next day and wandered around the non-fiction area. But he hadn't noticed Aru stalking- watching him from a comfortable place on the bean bag on the second floor behind Sal and Gabi Break The Universe.

Now, it was time for Mission Scare-Aiden-Out-Of-His-Pants-But-Not-Literally.

That would be quite unsettling and embarrassing.

Aru tried to roll off the bean bag like James Bond rolling off a wall, but failed miserable, hitting a coffee table that she could've sworn wasn't there before. Besides, who drinks coffee in the library? Except for the librarian, she always had her Starbucks. If she didn't, that was a clear sign screaming RUN!!!!!

She rubbed her head where it had been hit and then continued on her secret mission that no one knew about.

Except for Boo.

And Mini.

And Nikki.

...OK a lot of people knew!

Now came the next obstacle, the stairs, which she would have to gracefully slide down the railings. Aru had done that before at school, but, well, Aru being Aru, she slid off and high-fived the concrete with her nose. That wasn't so fun or pretty.

She sat on the railing and slid down. Well, more like inched down awkwardly. At least she landed correctly without fatally injuring her nose.

Now to sneak up on Aiden.

She went to the opposite side of the shelf he was looking at and peeked through the books. He was about to take out a book and she put her face on the other side.

3, 2, 1...

Aiden took out the book and yelped, stumbling backward immediately.

The librarian speed-walked over with her cart and shushed them aggressively, and then speed-walked away.

"Snob," she whispered.

"Troll," he whispered back.

"What was that for?" he asked.

"For almost scaring me to death yesterday." she tried to dramatically flip her hair but instead ended up hurting her arm for slapping her braid against it too hard. She muttered a small 'ouch' and rubbed the spot.

Aiden raised an eyebrow, "You OK, Shah?" he said, eying the area that Aru was rubbing.

"Oh yeah, I'll be fine-"

"AIDEN! WHAT A COINCIDENCE!" A shrill voice exclaimed. It was none other than Poppy. Again.

Arielle sashayed out from behind Poppy, perfectly, and without any flaws, flipping her hair over her shoulder.

Maybe I should wear fewer braids...Aru thought.

Poppy smiled bittersweetly," And Aru. How wonderful." she said through a fake smile. Aru glared at Poppy.

"Ah, Aiden, I forgot, had to help my mom with a few stuff at the museum." Poppy and Arielle smiled but Aiden looked distressed.

"Shah-"

"Oh, and Brynne wanted you to get some honey for her from the grocery store. She wants it by 3, and it's already 2:30. You might want to hurry." She shoved her hands in her pockets and started walking off.
