Even more way past Christmas but who cares. :<

"Christmas music. Christmas music..." Rudy splayed out his colorful selection of music across the floor. Mini watched as he switched around orders cross-legged on the floor, putting the red before blue, and so on and so forth. The sweet smell of Christmas cookies wafted from the kitchen, where Hira was now converted to the packager and Brynne to the baker. So far, the pair had filled two boxes with two-count gift bags of sweet cookies.

"I GOT IT!" Rudy jumped up, the bell at the end of his Christmas hat jingling, "So, I'm thinking we start off with a couple of classic, right, All I Want For Christmas Is You, Last Christmas, and then a couple of remixes, and then finally, this song I wrote while Malini aunty was making biryani for lunch. Get this, no spicy stuff! WHERE'S AIDEN!?!"

"Flirting with Aru," Brynne replied, dusting sugar off her hands.

"Aiden can flirt without smoldering?"

Brynne paused, "Oh I forgot about that."

"My cousin's way too much of an introvert for actual flirting. Let me demonstrate." Rudy flipped back his hair and looked at Mini, "Heey girl. Are you from Tennesee? 'Cuz you're the only ten-I-see."

"Rudy that was horrible."

"Wait I have this really good one for texts!"

Mini rolled her eyes and turned around, "Anyway, they should be clearing the Santa stage and setting up the mics Aru found in the attic. If nothing's broken yet."

"All right, well, there's like, 7 minutes, I'll go check on Aruden."

Brynne gasped, "Oh my gods you used it."

Mini gasped, "I did."

"Aight, we'll get finished up in the kitchen!"

Mini's phone beeped, and she slipped it out of her back pocket.

Mini turned around, "Not bad."

"Wait Aiden, just stand there, let me look at it." Aru framed her fingers and pretended she was taking pictures, closing one eye and peering through the hole she made at Aiden, dressed up in his eBay elf costume, posing with the mic. They scattered tinsel throughout the entire scene, hanging from the back wall, from the edge of the stage, and even hanging off the piano for Mini. Aru did in fact have a tambourine, but she was never stooping that low again.

Unless the world depended on it, then her pain and suffering must continue.

"Perfect. Maybe Rudy will have the playlist done by now. I'll keep on the lookout for cops and see if I can get an old statue or something to pose as my mom."

Aiden raised his perfect eyebrows together, "I mean, okay?"

Ugh. Just looking at him made Aru feel like she had been dunked underwater.

Aru made her way up the small stairs in the back, finding Aiden sitting and staring at the mic. He traced his finger around the crisscrossed pattern and trailed them down. The light glanced down at him and he pulled his hair back, his mouth parting slightly, and his eBay elf costume dissapea-
