(A/N: MY LEAST FAVORITE PART :,D /j/j/j/j)
TW: self doubt)
Ranboo sat, curled up, against the wall. He hadn't done that in a while, but having that dream, or nightmare, had made him more scared than he had been in a long time. His chin was resting on his knees, his knees against his chest and his arms wrapped around his legs. Ranboo took some deep breaths.
"It was just a nightmare. It was just a nightmare." He repeated that phrase a couple of times, relaxing. He shook his head, shaking his ears and hair around. He readjusted his crown and mask. He grunted, getting up. His limbs were still a little numb from the sleep darts.
Ranboo paced around the room, waiting for someone to come. He knew someone would come to check on him. He had waved to the cameras, but after a wait, he guessed no one was behind them. But he also guessed it was almost time to eat again, so someone would have to come to get him.
He continued pacing, his tail brushing along the walls and floor. He thought about Schlatt. Ranboo was still extremely confused. What had happened? He stopped and leaned against the wall.
I didn't hurt him at all, right? I don't remember. He didn't look like he was in pain, but it did at the same time. Maybe just mental pain. He was gripping his head. And what had he said? "Stop doubting yourself." Yeah. That was in my nightmare. But he said something about how none of it was my fault. How does he know? I never told anyone. Not even Niki. Right?
Ranboo paused. Wow. I really do doubt myself a lot. But again, how did Schlatt know that? He paused again, thinking. His eyes grew wide. Wait. Is he able to-
The door suddenly opened and Ranboo jumped, yelping. Dr. Dream stood at the door. His smiley face mask was still on and Ranboo was surprised at how well he was able to keep it on. Dr. Dream cleared his throat, stepping aside to indicate the hallway.
"Oh, yeah. Sorry." Ranboo said quickly, going through the metal doorframe. He waited till Dr. Dream had closed the door and standing in front of him, then they walked to the cafeteria. They were silent the whole way, Ranboo keeping his head down, watching his feet. The ball on his tail rolled and bumped along quietly.
They got to the cafeteria and Dr. Dream went ahead, getting his food and ignoring Ranboo. Ranboo relaxed as he got his usual berries with a side of milk. He had grown fond of milk, as it wasn't able to hurt him, like most liquids. He sat down at the table where he and Niki would sit, but today it was just Ranboo.
He looked across the large room and saw Dr. Dream sitting with Agent Sapnap. (an: autocorrect be like "Sapna" LOL) They talked to each other, occasionally taking bites out of their food. Ranboo ate his strawberries and drank the cold milk. He glanced over at Dream again and caught him taking a sip of the water bottle next to him. Ranboo shuddered, looking away quickly. His tail curled around his legs and he stared at the half-empty bowl of red berries.
He sat there for a while, just looking and eating the strawberries. He didn't want to look up, didn't want to see any more of the clear blue liquid. He put his arms down on the table and buried his face in his arms. He closed his eyes, thinking of other things.
Ranboo must have been there for a while because when he looked back up, there was no one left in the cafeteria. He got up quickly, dumped his trash in a trashcan, and peeked through the double doors.
Dr. Dream left me. On purpose or an accident? Probably an accident. Yeah. Ugh. I need to stop doubting myself. Just agree with yourself, Ranboo, for gosh sake.
He kept his head down as he stumbled through the long hallways. His hands were in front of him, clasped together. He was more nervous than usual, probably because there was no personnel with him.
