There once was a God. He was the God of Illusions. He was not as powerful as his siblings, so instead he decided to form his own illusion where he could hold unlimited power on a stage of his own making.

On this stage he could be,

The Best, The Only God.

This God grew mildly close to two other mortals, one with goggles and one with a bandana, and took them with him to start his world of illusions. He gave them personas and a script to follow, claiming that this was their destiny.

He was their God, and with the God's silver tongue and ideals of a perfect world, they did not know of free will any longer. Instead they were living for him, for there was no other way to live, right?

That was only the beginning. The God slowly, but surely captured more and inserted them into a play of his own making. He told them he had chosen them and they knew no better. They did not have a choice and yet they could not be upset with the God for he was their leader.

This is that story.

It was a story of war and sadness and death, but only to those who perceived it.

To those in it, they did not see it this way, for this was a show... and they were simply characters.

That's how it's always been.... at least until the God of Illusions got bored....

The outside watcher knew nothing of the closed curtains and what happened behind the scenes.

The actors knew nothing except to follow the script, for the script was absolutely everything to them.

Right?

"If you want to be a hero, Tommy, then die like one," Techno was harsh and full of anger.

Tommy nearly flinched back and he felt a pang of sadness, he hated these bits, they all seemed too real.

"Cut!" A voice boomed and the masked man appeared from thin air above the piles of rubble. "That's it's for today, great job everyone!"

Tommy visibly exhaled and couldn't help but feel reassurance run through him as Techno flashed him a small smile. He watched as his older brother dissolved into thin air. He looked down at his hands and couldn't help but feel relief as he watched them disappear before his very eyes.

He let himself fall backwards but the ground never came, the universe turned upside down for a moment, and then he was on his feet again, immediately surrounded by the warmth and smells of his home.

He opened his eyes to find Wilbur with his guitar on the couch and Phil reading his script on the floor, papers scattered around him.

"Got a lot of lines tomorrow?" Tommy said as he grabbed a glass from the cabinet to fill with water.

"Yeah, mate, you?"

"Yes, quite a few," Tommy replied back, voice more timid now that he was out of the spotlight.

Wilbur looked up from his guitar, his eyes squinting, "More? You've already been having so many lately! That's a lot of memorizing, are you getting enough rest?"

"Stop babying me, Wil! This is nothing big man, TommyInnit, can't handle!"

Wilbur scoffed but still looked a bit unsettled, however, Tommy was thankfully saved as Techno appeared in the room.

Techno yawned as he ran a hand through Tommy's hair, Tommy leaned into the touch a bit. His scenes with Techno today had been pretty intense.

"You good, kid?" Techno muttered, he was also aware of how harsh he had been to Tommy today. Tommy stared up at his brother who stared back at him with apologetic eyes.
