Ch. 37 "Emotional"

Kayden POV

I let the hot water fall down my face and down my back,

I sighed

Like it or not, I'm lost, without fighting, without any family I'm truly lost, like it or not, Steve and Bucky are the closest thing to family I have left,

I mean sure my parents used their DNA for the serum, sure I have their strength amongst other things,

I got dressed,

Without fighting, taking down HYDRA or anything else, what am I good for? I thought

I walked down the hallway, about to leave the tower, when I hear someone clear their throat,

I slowly turn around,

I see Steve and Bucky,

"We need to talk," Bucky said

"Can't this wait," I said

"No," Steve said

I sighed

"Now Kayden," Bucky said

I nodded following them back to the top of the tower in the conference room,

"Now do you mind telling us what is up with you lately," Bucky said

"I don't know what you mean," I said crossing my arms as I sat in one of the chairs,

"Well lets start with how you do nothing but train," Bucky said

"Last time I checked it's not against the law," I said trying too keep my cool,

"Yeah it's not but why train when you won't as so much go on any recon missions," Steve said

"Maybe I'm not at one hundred percent yet," I said feeling a little uncomfortable

"You are fully healed with no injuries and you train more than me and Steve combined I'm not buying that excuse," Bucky said

"Well that's your loss not mine," I said

Too tell you the truth I'm scared to fight again, to almost never walk again it scares me,

"Okay how about the fact that your personality did a complete one eighty," Bucky said

"Don't know what you mean," I said

"You know because you don't fight or make any kind of confrontation," Steve said

"So," I said

"So god Kayden you tell us or so help me," Bucky said

"Whatever I don't need this," I said about to walk out,

Then someone grabbed my wrist,

"What is so bad that you won't even talk about it!" Bucky said

"Let go," I said darkly

"Not until you talk what is so bad!" He said

"You really want to know!" I said

"Yes that's why I asked!" he asked

"Everything! alright! Everything is okay! All my life all I've done is fight! okay and in the matter of weeks I almost died! thought I was never going to walk again! and my uncle killed my parents in cold blood! so yeah maybe I don't wanna talk about it!" I said

"The only thing I have left is you two meat heads and I'm barely hanging on by a thread so sorry if I'm in no mood to die alright!" I said

"It scared you, " Steve said

"I didn't say scared alright, I can take a beating I've done it since I was a kid alright," I said glaring at them,

"We know that kid" Bucky said

"Look you two the avenger all of this oaky I'm done, I can't do it," I said

I looked at the both of them,

"You are the only family I have left," I said with tears in my eyes

They looked at me completely stunned,

Ugh I felt like such an idiot right now because I just spilled everything too these two meatheads,

Next think I know is Bucky pulled me into a hug, I felt tears fall down my cheek as he hugged me,
