Maddie's POV

I couldn't stop thinking of him. The cute adorable faces he made when he handed me my cell phone, when I accepted his invite to hang out,  and when I gave him my address.

I always told myself that I would never fall in love, I didn't want to fall for the same trick my mom did with dad. I was strong and independent, I didn't need a man....but I needed someone like Brendon. He made me feel so safe in that moment on the Ferris Wheel. He was sweet, maybe he would be different. Maybe even a friend.

I went through my daily routine; getting ready, doing household chores, and then decided to settle down and  watch a marathon of Supernatural. Chilling out in some nylon shorts, a baggy t-shirt, and absent mindedly twisting my hair around; I heard the doorbell ring.

"What? Who could that be?" I walked over and opened the door. "Oh!" There standing with a small bouquet of brightly colored flowers, was Brendon. My face flashed bright red as I looked at my current attire.

"Hi Maddie!", he smiled almost as brightly as the flowers

"Brendon! Oh my gosh you're here! Hi!" I ran to give him a hug, overwhelmed by my excitement to see him, I forgot about my chosen attire for the day. He wrapped his arms around me and returned the hug.

"I brought these for you, if you want them. I don't wanna come on too strong, or you get the wrong idea or something..." His face flared a bright pink as he looked down to his shuffling converse.

"Brendon, that's so sweet. You didn't have to!"

"But I wanted to. I also wanted to tell you that I can't stop thinking about the other night." He said shyly rubbing the back of his neck.

"Please come in, have a seat." I gratefully took the flowers and started to hunt for a vase. "Thank you, these are so beautiful."

"No problem." He said as he took a seat on the couch.

"Can I go throw some more decent clothes on really fast?"

"You don't bother me, but if you would like to, go ahead."

"I'll be quick, thanks!" I made a mad dash for the bedroom and threw on a huge pull over. I ran to the mirror, fishtailed my hair ,and checked my breath. (Oh come on every girl does it.) I casually walked out to the living room trying to slow the beat of my heart.

"Hey"

"Hey, I'm sorry about that. So what do I owe this visit to?"

"Well... I'm just gonna come out and say it." He took a deep breath. "I told you that I can't stop thinking about the  other night, but I mostly can't stop thinking about you in particular."

Is this seriously happening?!! " To be really honest with you, I feel the exact same way." I blushed as soon as I said it and covered my mouth with the sleeve of the sweatshirt.

"I understand... wait what? You do?" Brendon's eyes lit up.

"Yeah! I just felt this feeling when we met. That I could trust you." I smiled at him.

"Well, I was really wanting to find out if you would be interested in hanging out again sometime?"

"Hmmmmm....."

"It's ok, I figured you wouldn't, I'll just be on my way." He stood up and started to quickly walk towards the door.

"Wait! Brendon!" I ran and caught him by the arm. He spun to face me and we stared at each other for a brief moment before I kissed him. In my opinion, it was the best moment ever, but I figured it sucked because it was my first kiss and he probably had better.
