"So, Five, you said that you suggested the beach house for Dusk's honeymoon, right?" Maisie asked as the carriage continued down the dirt road. "Yeah, that's right," Five nodded. "The question is, how did you find this place?" she inquired. "Well, when Dusk got engaged, she asked a few people if there were any good spots to have a honeymoon, and I happened to find this place on one of my walks," He explained.
For the rest of the ride, it was silent, and Maisie couldn't help but smile as dozens of fireflies flew above them, shining their lights down on them like tiny spotlights. The carriage soon came to a stop a couple of feet away from the beach house, and Maisie stared at it in awe, remembering the last time she was there was when she dropped off Dusk, Klaus H, and Quigley's suitcases. Nicky and Five got out of the carriage, going to the other side to help out their wife.
"Thank you," She smiled, carefully stepping out, holding the ends of her wedding dress. When she was on the ground, Five, without warning, scooped Maisie into his arms, and the newlyweds walked up to the front door and unlocked it, stepping inside the beautiful beach house. Maisie and Nicky's jaw dropped as they looked around the property, feeling like they were on cloud nine with all the events that happened that day.
"Come on, let's head upstairs. Dusk told me that our stuff is in the bedroom," Five said, placing his new wife down and heading up the stairs towards the bedroom suite. "No wonder McKenna and Dusk went here for their honeymoons. This place is awesome!" Nicky softly chuckled. "Come on," Maisie smiled, taking his hand and leading him up the stairs. As they entered the bedroom, Five set three suitcases on the bed, opening up his and pulling out some clothes. "I'm going to get us settled in for the two weeks. Why don't you and Maisie go check out the back of the house?" Five suggested, looking over at Nicky.
"Alright, but are you coming out too?" Maisie asked. Five gave a slight nod before returning to the unpacking. Nicky took Maisie's hand in his, and they walked back down the staircase and out the back sliding glass door. Instantly, they were greeted with the bright underwater lights of the pool. A few feet away, the hot tub sat bone dry, almost inviting them to get inside. "I should've grabbed my swimsuit from the case," Maisie muttered to herself as she stared down at the pool.
"Well, how about this. After Five gets everything settled, how about we get changed, and we'll go swimming together, just the three of us?" Nicky suggested, lightly kissing her cheek. "Yeah, let's do that," Maisie nodded. They headed back upstairs, surprised to see that Five had just finished unpacking and placed the empty suitcases in the nearby closet. Maisie went to one of the drawers, pulling out one of her favorite swimsuits, and walked to the bathroom to get changed. A few minutes later, she walked out of the bathroom, her wedding dress in hand.
Five and Nicky couldn't help but notice the tears that were forming in her eyes. "Darling, what's wrong?" Five asked. "I-It's just, I've waited for so many years to wear a wedding dress, and now that the day is over, I can't wear it anymore," She sniffled. "Aw baby, nobody said you didn't have to wear it anymore. You can wear it all you want during our honeymoon. No one will judge you," Nicky assured, placing a gentle hand on her shoulder.
He carefully took the dress out of her hands, placed it on a hanger, and hung it in the closet. "Come, let's go have some fun," The married throuple walked back to the pool, their feet hanging off the edge and into the cool water. Five took off his shirt, tossing it to the side before he jumped in the water, partially splashing Maisie and Nicky in the face. "Hey!" Nicky protested as Five popped out of the water catching his breath. "Oops, sorry!" He smirked. "Oh, it is on!" Nicky stood up, instantly jumping into the water, coming up a few seconds later.
"Come on, hun! It's your turn now!" Five called out to his lover as she chuckled at their rambunctiousness. "Oh, what the heck? Why not? You already splashed me anyway!" She playfully shrugged before sinking into the water, letting out a small gasp as the cold reached her stomach. "Oh god, it's cold!" She muttered to herself, slowly making her way towards her husbands, hugging them tightly. "God, I love you both," She sighed happily, meeting their beautiful green eyes she could drown in.
"We love you too," Nicky whispered before leaning in to kiss her. The two men exchanged turns, kissing her before a cold night breeze blew past them, making them all shiver. "Let's head back inside," Maisie suggested, feeling her teeth begin to chatter. "Yeah, we should," Five nodded in agreement. As they got out of the pool, Nicky took the opportunity to scoop up Maisie, carrying her inside, wrapping her in a towel as they went upstairs.
"I call dibs on the shower!" Five called out as he turned on the water, hoping to wash the smell of chlorine off of him. "Five, how about wifey goes first? You know the old saying," Nicky said, giving him a know-it-all look that made Maisie chuckle. "Okay, you wash off, and we'll be waiting outside," Five gave her a quick kiss before shutting the bathroom door.
By the time Maisie had finished changing into her pajamas, the mirror was fogged up from all the hot water, and she couldn't help but draw a little heart in the center with her, Five, and Nicky's initials in the center. She caught glimpse of the rings on her left hand. Wow, this is so surreal. I can't believe I'm married to the loves of my life! She opened the bathroom door, seeing Five and Nicky had already changed into their pajamas. Their hair was also dripping wet as they ran their towels through them.
"Did you guys take a shower?" She asked. "Yeah, there's two extra bathrooms downstairs," Five clicked his tongue before smiling at her. Maisie turned off the lights before crawling into the large bed. Her husbands were on each side of her, resting their heads in the center of her chest. "We love you so much, Mrs. Hargreeves-Harper," Nicky yawned before closing his eyes and falling into slumber.
"I love you both too, Mr. Hargreeves-Harpers," She whispered, kissing the crown of their heads before falling asleep, her hands resting in their hair.
