A/n: This is just a concept I've been debating writing for From the Ashes. I've been obsessed with the musical Epic, and I felt like this song was perfect for switching between different characters. I do want to put a quick trigger warning, there is a small part of the song where SA is mentioned, and I know it's a hard topic to hear for some people, so if you're easily triggered, please read no further. Furthermore, there will be small spoilers for the last few episodes, so if you want to go into the finale blind, this is your last chance to leave. *Scene starts now*
*The Hargreeves siblings sit inside Diego and Lila's house, gathered in the living room as they watch the ensuing news report and the chaos taking over the world. And as three familiar faces flash onscreen, a sense of dread washes over them.*
Five: Screw this damn timeline, we've been here for hours
None of us can stop this, we don't have the powers.

*A few hours earlier, the enchantresses take refuge within a church, holding at least 4 dozen of the Keepers hostage, but something about them seems off. Their skin has turned pitch black, and their eyes glow purple as they await orders from their master manipulators. Meanwhile, the Enchantresses speak of their plans for revenge, but Dark Phoenix's desire consumes her soul*
Dark Phoenix: Haven't you noticed who's missing?
Don't you know dear Reg is not around?
Shadow Keeper: I heard he's on a diplomatic mission.
Dark Phoenix: And I heard he comes back to town so...
Frostbite: I say we gather near the strip mall
I say we wait till he arrives...
Tele-Girl: Then when they park their cars,
we can breach them.
Enchantresses: Let us leave now, today we can strike and...
Shadow Keepers: Hold him down

Dark Phoenix: While I slit his throat

Tele-Girl: While we slowly break his

Frostbite & Tele-Girl: In the great below
Dark Phoenix: When the city wonders where dear Reg is,
Only the ocean and us will know!
*The Shadow Keepers cheer in delight, but an unknown voice rises in the crowd, the voice of Gene Thibedeau, only half of himself corrupted by the shadows*
This is the SA part I was hinting at, so trigger warning.
Gene: And when the deed is done,
the elites will have no one to stop us
from breaking their bedroom doors,
stop us from taking their love and more!
*The Dark Phoenix, Frostbite and Tele-Girl look at each other with widening eyes at the implication of his words, but as Gene continues talking, it gets progressively worse as he draws some of the Shadow Keepers attention*
Gene: And then we'll...

Gene: While their gates are open

*Frostbite and Tele-Girl look at Dark Phoenix with slight worry and disgust, but Dark Phoenix grows enraged. She looks to the two women, silently telling them she'll be back before she disappears into a cloud of black smoke*
Shadow Keepers: Here and now
There's a chance for action!
Gene: Chance for action!
Shadow Keepers: Here and now
We can take control!

*The Dark Phoenix shows up behind Gene and with her razor-sharp claws, she slits his throat and watches him choke on his own blood. Gene looks at her with shocked eyes, but with a small smirk, she watches him collapse onto the floor, still clutching his throat*
