Night, Jazz

The drive home is mostly silent, but I didn’t mind. I had an amazing time with Jasper tonight, even after she basically told me that she was ditching after high school. Well not ditching… but still.

We had talked about our childhood, the music we liked, the teachers we hated, and what we wanted to do with out lives. I said I wanted to be a musician. She said she wanted to be a musician too, but that chance was slim for her, because her band wasn’t very committed anymore. If that didn’t work out, she wanted to be a lawyer.  I got that. Haven forbid we ever argue, because I know she'll win. She had that reputation.

I pull up into the driveway for once, thinking I probably earned that. I walk her to the door.

"Night, Jazz." I say quietly.

"Night Lennon. Thanks. I had fun." She smiles a little, and I can't help myself. I lean in, and press my lips to her forehead. I hear her gasp. I pull away, and she hits me playfully.

"Night." I laugh and get into my car, smiling all the way home.
