Chapter 9

14 ~~INT. ROOM~~ 14

Peter and y/n are standing in a room.

A man is sitting at a desk surrounded by cash.

He has a stack of cash in his hands and puts a $100 bill on the desk.

Peter picks it up and the man continues going through his stack of cash.

WRESTLING PROMOTER
Now get out of here.

Peter and y/n both give confused looks.

They look at each other, then back at the man.

PETER
A hundred bucks? The ad said 3000.

Y/N
Yeah and so did the announcer.

Peter nods his head.

WRESTLING PROMOTER
Well, check it again, webhead. It said three grand for three minutes. You pinned him in two. For that, I give you 100. You're lucky to get that.

Y/N
Hey, you can't do that! He won! And he did better than your stupid advertisement advertised!

The man scoffs.

PETER
I need that money.

WRESTLING PROMOTER
I missed the part where that's my problem.

Peter stands there with disappointment while y/n stands there with rage.

Peter then begins walking out of the room.

Y/n looks at him, then at the man.

She scoffs and gives the man one last glare, then follows Peter.

She walks past a man that had entered the room and walks quicker to catch up to Peter.

Peter presses the top button for the elevator twice as y/n walks up to him.

Y/N
That guy's a jerk. I would've given you the $3000.

Peter chuckles and smiles.

CARJACKER
Hurry up!

Peter and y/n both look in the direction of the voice.

A guy then runs out in that direction carrying a duffel bag while the man from earlier is yelling at him.

WRESTLING PROMOTER
Hey! He stole the gate!

A cop comes out of a room on the right side of the hallway.

MALE COP #1
Stop that guy!

Peter and y/n get out of the way as the man with the duffel bag runs past them and into the now open elevator.

WRESTLING PROMOTER
Stop him! He's got my money!

The robber hits a button in the elevator repeatedly as the doors begin closing.

CARJACKER
Thanks.

The elevator door closes as the cop reaches it.

MALE COP #1
What the hell's the matter with you, you let him go! Cut him off and call the cops!

The cop runs back in the other direction as the man who had his money stolen approaches Peter.

WRESTLING PROMOTER
You could've taken that guy apart. Now he's going to get away with my money.

PETER
I missed the part where that's my problem.

The man stares at Peter, then walks away.

Peter goes over to the elevator and presses the top button.

Y/n stares at the man walking away, then looks at Peter.

Y/N
Geez Peter, maybe we should've done something.

PETER
He didn't give me the money I earned, so I let him have what was coming to him.

The elevator door slides open and Peter steps inside.

Y/n steps into the elevator with him.

The elevator door slides shut as Peter presses one of the buttons.

The elevator ride is silent at first.

Y/N
So, what are you going to do now?

PETER
Well, my uncle is coming to pick me up and then I'm gonna go home. 

Y/N
No, I meant what are you going to do moving forward? With your abilities.

PETER
Oh, well I haven't really thought about it.

Y/N
Me neither.

They're both silent the rest of the elevator ride.
