25 ~~INT. THE DAILY BUGLE-AFTERNOON~~ 25

Y/n and Peter are sitting in the office of Jameson with another man sitting next to them as Jamseon sits at his desk, looking at the photos that Peter took.

J. JONAH JAMESON
They're crap. Crap, crap, megacrap. I'll give you 200 bucks for all of them.

PETER
That seems a little low.

Peter looks at y/n.

She looks at him and nods her head in agreement.

They both look back at Jameson.

J. JONAH JAMESON
Take them somewhere else then.

Jameson hands Peter his photos back as a buzzer goes off on his deskphone.

Peter puts his pictures back in the folder he brought them in and stands up.

Y/n scoffs and also stands up.

ELIZABETH BRANT
Sir, your wife said that tile you want in the foyer is out of stock.

J. JONAH JAMESON
Tell her we'll just put a rug there. Sit down. Give me that.

Peter turns around and hands Jameson his folder.

Peter slowly sits back down and y/n follows.

J. JONAH JAMESON
I'll give you 300. That's a standard freelance fee. Do you have pictures too?

Y/n shakes her head.

Jameson takes the photos out of the folder and hands them to the man sitting next to y/n.

J. JONAH JAMESON
Tear up page one. Run that photo instead.

ROBBIE ROBERTSON
Headline?

J. JONAH JAMESON
"Spiderman and Lizard-Girl, Working Together to Solve Crime or to Start It? Exclusive Daily Bugle Photos."

Peter and y/n both frown.

Y/N
Start it?

PETER
They weren't starting it, they were protecting that-

J. JONAH JAMESON
Tell you what, Atticus, you take the pictures, I'll make up the headlines, ok? All right? That ok with you?

PETER
Yes, sir.

J. JONAH JAMESON
Give this to the girl up front. She'll see you get paid.

Jameson writes out a check for $300 and hands it to Peter.

Peter puts the check in his left pocket.

PETER
I'd like a job, sir.

J. JONAH JAMESON
No jobs. Freelance. Best thing in the world for a kid your age. Bring me some more shots of those newspaper selling clowns, maybe I'll take 'em off your hands.

Jameson stands up and walks over to Peter.

He puts his hand on Peter's shoulder as Peter stands up.

Y/n stands up as well.

J. JONAH JAMESON
But I never said you have a job.

Jameson and Peter walk over to Jameson's office door.

Jameson still has his hand on Peter's shoulder.

Y/n is following them.

J. JONAH JAMESON
Meat. I'll send you a box of Christmas meat. You too if you want. Best I can do. Get outta here. Bring me more photos.

Jameson holds the door open as Peter and y/n walk out of his office.

Jameson closes the door while Peter talks the check out of his pocket and walks up to Jameson's assistant, Elizabeth Brant.

PETER
Hi.

ELIZABETH BRANT
Hi.

PETER
Mr. Jameson told me to give that to you.

Peter hands Brant the check.

ELIZABETH BRANT
Welcome to the Daily Bugle.

PETER
Thank you. I'm Peter Parker.

Brant smiles at Peter.

PETER
I'm a photographer.

Brant looks at his camera.

ELIZABETH BRANT
Yes. I can see that.

She hands Peter the $300 and Peter walks away, smiling.

Y/n looks at Peter, then at Brant.

Brant is watching Peter walk away.

Brant sees y/n looking at her and flashes her a smile.

Y/n does the same and begins following Peter.

They begin walking out of the building.

Y/N
So, what was that all about?

PETER
Hmm? What do you mean?

Y/N
"I'm Peter Parker." "I'm a photographer."

PETER
I was just being nice and you know, doing some small talk.

Y/N
Okay.

PETER
What?

Y/N
Well, you were smiling a lot.

Peter scoffs.

PETER
What, you think I like her?

Y/N
It's a possibility.

PETER
Well, I don't.

They both walk into an elevator and the doors shut.

Y/n presses the button for the ground floor.

They're both silent for a moment.

PETER
I'm going to my apartment after this. Do you want to come?

Y/N
No, I'm just gonna head home. My mom has been worried about the amount of time I spend not at home anyways.

They're both silent again.

The elevator door slides open and they both step out.

They walk out of the building.

PETER
Well, see you later.

Y/N
See ya.

Y/n starts walking away.

PETER
Oh y/n, wait. Are you coming to the Unity Festival tomorrow?

Y/N
Sure, I'll stop by.

PETER
I'm going to be taking pictures. I'll make sure to take some with you in it.

Y/N
That sounds like a plan, Parker.

Peter smiles.

PETER
Well, bye.

Y/N
Bye.

Y/n starts walking away again.

Peter gives y/n one last look before walking away too, but in the other direction.
