Please don't let me shine, Don't let me down

Don't let me shine

My headphones rang the dark tone of Suga's Interlude: Shadow. We couldn't escape darkness. Sabi nga nila, if there's a light, there's always a shadow. And in every decision, there were sacrifices.

As I grabbed the pink fluffy teddy bear beside me, I went into a deep thought. It's already Wednesday. The day I would confront a confession.

Steven Bryan Legaspi. My impression to him was an aloof yet intelligent guy. But when I saw his code on the first day, parang may naramdaman akong may pagkakapareho kami. There's an I don't befriend a fool placard strapped on his body. I felt comfortable being with him despite being sharp-tongued sometimes.

When I talked to him alone, I realized he's a guy with a heart and understood the dark side of every light.

He may be a bit aloof, but I know that he has a heart, too. Maybe he has trust issues that hindered him to socialize and connect to him. He even managed to give me a simple note of gratitude. Some might find it creepy, but I find it cute honestly.

"Oh shit! I remembered that scene again! That's embarrassing! I wanna die!" I shoved a pillow on my face, muffling my screams.

I caught a glimpse of him sitting alone in a nearby tree. And he seemed ignorant of that fact. Or was he? My companions weren't observing their surroundings and kept talking so they hadn't noticed him. And yet, I shot those words without giving much thought of it

Yeah, I'm the one who dragged him on this mess. But I wasn't sure if that's the right thing to do.

"Pero what if..."

What if mas malala sa inaasahan ko ang mangyari? Iyon ang isang bagay na pinag-aalala ko. Gusto ko if possible ay may tutulong sa akin if everything went south. Ayaw kong mapahamak at gusto kong may magligtas sa'kin.

"Although, he's not useful in a brawl." I snorted a few times. That's his only downside, he's not physically capable. I bet he would bait himself so I could escape. Not that I wanted it to happen, but a possible outcome.

Looking back, that note is an improvement of our relationship. He's not treating me as a mere acquaintance anymore. We're now friends. That means we could talk about casual things from now on. I've gain a few friends, too. I could say I'm lucky this academic year.

"Jasmine! May naghahanap sa'yo!" Yaya Lenny yelled.

That call woke me up from thinking paralysis. "Papunta na po!"

I almost forgot I have my uniform on. Geez!

Leaning against his bike, Steven, with his coat drapped on his shoulders, was waiting. Eyes hinting amazement, he gaze at my-or our abode.

With a sided-eye, his glance went to the window-to me. With a poker face, I sighed and made my way out of the house.

"Anyway, good morning," he greeted. "Still wanna be a damsel in distress?"

"Me? Don't wanna be. Though I wanna have a knight in shining armor who can save me," I jested, following his joke.
