Alison:
I stayed with Emily the rest of the day and night before I decided I should go home and "bond with my mom", but really I was planning on an awesome way to ask Emily to be my girlfriend. It had to be amazing and perfect, just like her.

"I'll see you later, em." I kissed her lightly but savored her lips and then I headed out the door. Her kiss made me lightheaded and I almost ran into the wall.

"Be careful!" Emily said while she was laughing.

I rolled my eyes and left quickly. The mugginess in the air seemed to only slow me down so I picked up the pace and finally made it to my house. I still smelled like Emily and it left me with a comforting feeling.

"Hey mom." I yelled as soon as I unlocked the door.

"Hey! Want some breakfast?" She yelled back coming to greet me in an apron and dough all over her.

"No thanks-I ate at Emily's. But wow, you look great." I smirked and she threw some flour on me.

"How'd it go?" She asked actually looking curious.

"Really good, I'm going to uh-make it official today." I said in a rush because it was still really awkward to talk to your mom about your girl crush. And I still had to tell all the other girls because they were all part of my plan.

"Well alright, I'm going to finish making breakfast." She turned around and headed back into the kitchen.

I sent the girls a quick text telling them to all meet me at my house but not to tell Emily. I hoped they wouldn't press me with too much questions because we had a lot to get done today.

Thirty minutes later, after I had changed out of my flour covered shirt, the doorbell rang.

"Hey!" Aria and spencer chorused as I opened the door.

"No questions please, I have a project for you!" I told them, tugging them inside the door.

"Ooooh a project?" Aria said giggling.

"Yes, I'm asking Emily to be my girlfriend and I need it to be spectacular."

Both of their jaws dropped.

"Wait, what?!?" Spencer asked, clearly in shock.

"I knew it!" Aria held out her hand and spencer took out her wallet and put five bucks in it.

"Seriously? You guys bet on it?" I laughed and ushered them to my room.

A few hours later we had gone shopping and had gathered all the supplies that we needed in order to make this the best thing ever.

"I hope she'll like it." I frowned, creasing my brow.

"Of course she will! Now we have to distract her while you set up. We'll see you soon Ali." They ran over to Emily's house and asked her to hang out, just like we had planned. As soon as she was out, I would set up everything and wait for her to come home.

Just then my doorbell rang.

"Hey Ali, want to come to the ice cream place with us?" It was Emily.

"No, I'll stay here with my mom. I'll catch up with you later." I kissed her cheek and she blushed furiously.

"Okay." She turned away and went to catch up with Aria and Spencer. It was game time for me.

I sprinted over to her house, the bag of supplies banging against my leg. Working quickly I set up the candles leading up to her front door. I knocked quickly and her mom let me in.

"I'll be super quick." I smiled

"No problem." She moved out of my way and I placed the flower petals leading all the way up to her room. Then I took out the big blank sign and wrote in all different colors, "will you be my girlfriend?"

I sent the girls a quick text, letting them know I was done and I was left alone to my thoughts.

It was hard to believe that just a week ago I didn't even think I was ever going to have Emily, but here I was sitting in her room holding a sign asking her to be mine.

Sooner than later, I heard the front door open and I paused, my heart beating quickly.

"What is all of this?" I heard Emily ask her mom.

I waited as patiently as I could until I heard footsteps right outside the door. The doorknob turned and I leapt up greeting Emily.

"Alison...what...?" Emily looked confused at first but then looked at the sign.

"So, what do you say mermaid?" I asked referring to one of the old nicknames I'd given to her a long time ago.

"Heck yes." She replied in shock.

My face instantly broke into a smile and I pulled her into a hug.

"Yes, yes, yes." She whispered over and over again.

"You stay here and I'll go pick up but I'll be right back." I informed her and went to go clean up quickly.

A few minutes later I was done and I hurried to go see Emily.

"Hey." I couldn't help but smile when I saw Emily sitting there.

"Hey stranger." She replied pulling my into her. I melted at her touch and formed my body into hers. I opened my mouth to say something but instead Emily kissed me hard. I was surprised by the intensity of the kiss but I kissed her back with just as much force.

"What was that for?" I giggled after we pulled apart.

"this was perfect and i don't know, I get to do that because I'm with you now." She replied shyly.

"You're perfect." I insisted kissing her again but lightly.

And she really was. I couldn't wait to begin our life together as a couple. Just to be able to hold her and kiss her whenever. I didn't understand how I could ever get something so perfect but I knew I could never let it go
