At 5:47 AM on Wednesday morning Hayes opened his eyes for the first time since being in the hospital.

His eyes blinked open slowly at first, his eyes surveying the dark room and the view in front of him which was only medical equipment and Luciano.

Confusion laced his thoughts first. Unlike Avery, Hayes' thoughts were more jumbled because of the morphine and it took him longer to realize that his was in a hospital room. A wave of nausea and dizziness hit him when his head moved to the side sliglty to the side and he moaned at the discomfort.

The noise caught Luciano's attention, "Hayes," Luciano shot up from his chair, his hands settling themselves on the sides of Hayes' face to make him look at him at the same time Elijah and Darius rushed over to bed while Ryder went to get the doctor, "What's wrong?" Luciano was on high alert.

"Nausea," Hayes' rasped, his speech drawled out into a slight slur from the effects of the morphine drip, "and my throat's dry."

Luciano grabbed the glass of water that already had a straw inserted into it and held it to Hayes lips, only moving it when Hayes pulled his lips closed.

"Better?" Luciano asked.

Hayes hummed with a slight nod.

"Good." Luciano sat the glass back back down on the table next to the bed and resumed his position. "Do you remember what happened?"

"I-" Hayes remembered leaving the school premises with Blake and Kaden then they made a stop, "Kaden fetched me and Blake and then Keanu and Mateo." Hayes mumbled in response.

Silence followed next with Hayes' eyes closing as he thought about the answer to the question. It didn't take long before his eyes widened slightly he was looking at Luciano with panic lacing his eyes, "We were outnumbered. We told Kenau and Mateo to stay in the car. They shot Kaden first," he retold, "then Blake, then me. I can't remember what happened after that." Hayes sounded dirgeuntled with himself, "Where are they?" He asked immediately after, "Are they okay?"

"Keanu and Mateo are fine." Darius answered in attempt to rid Hayes of the panicked look in his eyes, "They called the ambulance-"

"What about Blake and Kaden?" Hayes cut Darius off, still sounding just as worried as before.

"Calm down, they're okay too." Luciano assured. I'll show you." Using the remote for the bed, Luciano adjusted the bed so it was slightly elevated where Hayes' head upper body was so he could see the other three beds in the room.
