The squealing of the child in my arms is what snapped me back to reality. I was dazed for a few minutes, registering my surroundings and realising what I was doing.
"Right, Bella." I muttered, letting my eyes briefly settle on her before I let her down and she ran off towards the stairs, probably up to her room.
Following the behind her, I pulled my phone out of my pocket and went to the phone app. His number was one of the recents in my log, for reasons not of my own. It was Damon, well for Damon. Basically I was the messenger because apparently Damon couldn't use his own phone.
"What?" A grunt filled the other line.
"Es agradable saber de ti también, cariño." I chided sarcastically.
"Nice to hear from you too, honey."
"What do you want, Elliot?" I heard another grunt from Aiden.
"Tenía un fav-" Curiosity got the better of me when I heard laboured breathing, "¿Qué estás haciendo?"
"I had a fav-"
"What are you doing?"
"Working out." He quipped irritably, "You know, the thing I do every morning before I start my day and every evening after."
"Right." I drawled, "Bueno, puedes volver a eso en un minuto, solo tengo que pedirte un favor."
"Well you can get back to that in a minute, I just got a favour to ask."
"Bella's there, right?"
I quirked a brow at him miraculously knowing that, "Sí, ¿cómo lo supiste?"
"Yes, how'd you know?"
"I can hear her in the background." I didn't miss the amusement in his voice and I then realised how stupid I seemed.
"Por supuesto que puedes." I muttered dumbly, doubting he could hear me. "De todos modos, se supone que debo recoger a Adrian de la casa de su amiga en veinte minutos, pero Zia acaba de dejar a Bella. ¿Crees que podrías conseguir a Adrian?" My tone was hopeful.
"Of course you can."
"Anyway, I'm supposed to pick Adrian up from her friend's house in twenty minutes but Zia just dropped Bella off. Do you think you could get Adrian?"
