Tense and tired air hung through the kitchen of 12 Grimmauld Place and before Eliana could make her escape, her parents were sat and waiting to hear exactly what Dumbledore had been thinking when, at nine in the evening, he had called one of his many students to a random house that appeared from seemingly nowhere. "Perhaps I should introduce you to everyone here. Severus Snape is just to your left, he teaches Potions at Hogwarts." Just as Dumbledore took a break from talking to fill his lungs again, Enyo piped up.
"Potions? Ellie said that her Potions teacher was very smart. She also mentioned intimidating, but only once." Eliana, unable to handle hearing her parents give away her every thought, turned to Mrs Weasley who seemed slightly shaken.
"Mrs Weasley, sorry, Molly. I heard that your husband was hurt recently. Is he feeling any better? I didn't get to hear much about it but when I saw that Harry and your children were gone I was a little worried." Molly, politely smiling, sipped at her hot drink and then placed it back on the table in front of her as she took in a deep breath through her teeth.
"Oh, yes. The healers are trying their best, if it wasn't for Harry, I dare say that the story would be very different." Eliana was drawn back into the conversation as she saw Sirius growl at Snape, and Eliana suddenly disliked Black a little less.
"I'm glad. Do you think he will be back home soon?" Molly nodded with a smile as her crazy hair shook slightly.
"Of course, my dear." Molly's words soon came to an end as Dumbledore turned his attention to the fifth-year student.
"I am terribly sorry, Molly, but I was wondering if I could steal Miss Abaza's attention. And Sirius, could you fetch Harry for me? His friends may come down too if they wish. And please, take your time bringing him here. I want to discuss something with Miss Abaza for a second." Sirius stood, grimacing at Snape and then with a swish he rushed off to find Harry, who Eliana had learnt was his godfather.
"Miss Abaza, your name, it is uncommonly pretty, is it not?" Eliana didn't dare to answer for a second as Dumbledore watched Snape closely.
"Thank you-" Eliana stopped for a moment to try and understand what he was really saying to her. "-Professor Dumbledore."
"I think that Professor Snape here would like to hear it." Eliana turned to the man in black and awkwardly glanced at him with fleeting fear as she tried not to meet his eyes.
"Eliana Weasley. No, sorry, I-I didn't mean that." Dumbledore gave a chuckle and the room was quiet, waiting for him to speak again as Eliana had given up trying.
"Miss Abaza, all three of your names if you would, and perhaps try meeting his eye." Professor McGonagall had shifted forward and with curious eyes, she watched her colleagues and Eliana didn't miss the shock in Snape's expression either as she then met his cold black eyes and cleared her throat.
"Eliana Amour Abaza." The second her middle name escaped her lips, the world around her changed and Eliana swayed slightly before she landed in a world she hadn't ever seen before. The sky was dark and the street was narrow, the snow hadn't fallen wherever they were, but the wind still seemed cold as houses around Eliana seemed empty until it all disappeared from around her and an empty path was seen, as if she had apparated not once but twice within a matter of seconds.
"Where are we? How did we apparate without touching? Was this another Portkey? Damn, Dumbledore is sneaky." The comment didn't seem to pass Snape's ears and in all the shock, Eliana hadn't noticed that Snape had stopped walking and so ended up walking through him. "Oh, this is a memory. I don't remember trying to read your mind."
The man, who was unmistakably Snape in his younger years, again, started walking, completely out of breath as two unknown individuals around him matched his pace. One seemed completely deranged with brown hair tied in natural knots while the other figure was cloaked. In front of the three stood a woman. She was a familiar face but Eliana couldn't quite remember where she had seen her before. Just as Eliana seemed to pick up the thread of where she had seen the woman with dark hair and fair features, the scene unfolded in front of her, the woman was being questioned about a baby, when the answer was given and it wasn't what they wanted, Eliana watched the crazy witch cast an unforgivable, torturing the woman.
