Never again

Chapter 6

She took a turn when suddenly a car came out of nowhere. After that the first thing she could remember was waking up on a stretcher, blurry view of paramedics around her and her wanting to scream, but nothing was coming out. Then everything went blank again.

Andy was rushed to the hospital, when she got there Dr Bailey recognized her immediately and asked the nurse to page Meredith Grey.

"What happe- is this?" Shock was written on her face when she saw Andy lying on the gurney unconscious. "Andy Herrera... car accident" Bailey replied. She took the ultrasound machine and started checking her abdomen.

"Oh no" Meredith was looking at the screen, seeing a large dark stain telling them that other than the cuts and the bruises she had a severe internal bleeding. "She needs surgery to repair the damage" Bailey looked up to Meredith "yes, I can it".

"Okay I'm gonna have someone call her dad, he's her emergency contact I think" Meredith nodded in response.

The nurses took her up to the OR floor and Meredith started to operate, a little nervous given the fact she was now operating on one of the greatest firefighters Seattle have.

Robert started to worry, Andy hasn't answered his text massages for two hours now. He had to pick Maddie up from school that day. He drove and took her home. When he got home he hoped to see Andy there but instead was surprised not to see her car in the driveway.

It got him nervous, what if something happened to her?

"Daddy where's mommy?" Maddie asked when they entered the house and the girl couldn't see her mom anywhere. "I don't know princess but I'm sure she's gonna come back home soon" he wasn't sure if he was trying to convince the girl or himself.

"Okay...." The girl was sitting on the floor in the living room plying with her toys while Robert cut some fruit for her to snack. When he was done with that he brought the bowl to the girl and stayed on the floor to play with his daughter. They started to build a great relationship over the little time they've known each other. And both were grateful for that.

She took a strawberry from the bawl "daddy you need to eat one two" she smiled and gave him the strawberry which he took happily.

"I love you, you know that?"

"I love you too daddy" she was busy with her toys saying that and didn't see his face melting to the sound of her telling him these words for the first time.

Pruitt was at his house when he got a phone call from the hospital telling him his daughter was in a car accident and brought in, they told him she was in surgery and that he should come.

He was about to go out and rush to the hospital to get more information about Andy's condition 'she's such a great driver.. what got her in an accident?' He thought. Just before he left the house he noticed the time, it was already afternoon and Maddie should have been picked up 30 minutes ago.

If Andy's in the hospital his granddaughter is still in school waiting. He had to go get her first.

So first he drove to Maddie's kindergarten. He got there and when the door opened the kindergarten teacher looked really surprised to see him, she knew Pruitt of course, he picked Maddie up a lot more then once.

"Sir what are you doing here?" She asked.

"I need to get Maddie, her mom was in a car accident, she's at Grey Sloan. Can you please bring her?"
