arriving home from work, the first thing i noticed was how cold the house was. goosebumps rose on my skin and i shivered setting my bag down.
"wilbur" i called out, with a weak smile.
i waited, but there was no reply. so i pulled out my phone and texted him
"hey :) ur not home rn i guess but i just got home from work and i've got some pretty exciting news"
15 seconds after i sent the text, i heard a ping from another room. my heart started racing and my stomach tied into a knot, even though my head was completely calm and clear. my body started defying my brain.
i texted him again, approaching the room where the sound came from. i let wil's phone ping one more time, before i heard the echo from the bathroom. chills ran down my spine. i knocked on the door
"wilbur" i said steadily and waited once again. i felt a tear pool in my eyes before speaking again
"wilbur?" my voice cracked as the tear dripped down my face.
