Charlie bursts through the door with a newspaper. Its about who won the 3rd golden ticket.
"Who's found it?" I ask.
"Miss Violet Beauregarde." Dad replies reading the newspaper Charlie handed him.
I took the newspaper off dad. "Shes from Atlanta, Georgia." I say. Charlie turns on the tv.
"These are just some of the 263 trophies and medals my Violet has won." Mrs Beauregarde brags.
"I'm a gum chewers mostly, but when I heard about these ticket things. I laid off the gum, switched to candy bars." Violet says.
"Shes just a driven young women. I don't know where she gets it." Mrs Beauregarde says staring into my soul.
"That woman is staring into my soul, she can see all the sins I've ever committed. Charlie save me." I say dramatically.
"I'm the junior world champion gum chewer." Violet brags.
"Thats a thing?" I interrupt.
"The piece of gum im chewing right at this moment I've been working on for 3 months solid. That's a record." Violet continues.
"Of course, I did have my share of trophies. Mostly baton." Mrs Beauregarde brags.
"No one cares, love." I interrupt smiling sarcastically.
"So it says that one kids going to get this special prize, better than all the rest. I don't care who those other 4 are. That kid- its gonna be me."
"Tell them why Violet."
"Because I'm a winner." Violet finishes.
"What a beastly girl." Grandma Josephine says.
"Dispicable." Grandma Georgina says.
"You don't know what we are talking about." Grandpa George says to her.
"Dragonflies?" Mom smiles at her mother-in-law.
