TRIS

It's Friday and the whole school is bustling with anticipation for the weekend. Not that I blame them. The football team is away tonight, which means Tobias is too. They're playing a non-league game against a school a few hours away, which also means no Pedrad post-game party.

So the girls and I are just gonna hang out tonight, probably at Shauna and Lynn's house, maybe my basement. I don't know really, we haven't decided yet.

Tobias had to come to school early to take a test he'll be missing in math, since he has to leave before lunch for the game, so I haven't seen him yet. I also haven't decided to leave my warm car yet, so I'm just sitting here scrolling through Instagram. I startle when I hear a knock on my passenger side window, but calm when I realize it's Christina.

She opens the door and climbs into my Jeep, greeting me with a "Hey."

"How's it going?" I ask.

"It's cold as balls out there!" Chris exclaims, hold her hands against the heater vents. I just laugh, pulling my leg up onto my seat. "How are you?"

"I'm fine," I shrug. "Four came home with me after our game last night when my parents and brother went to dinner. I told them I was doing homework, but really I was just making out with Four, and my parents almost caught us. Caleb did actually, but I made a deal with him to keep his mouth shut."

Christina laughs at my story and asks, "What was the deal?"

I groan, "I can't prank him for a month!"

As Chris's laughter dies down, her curious side is exposed.

"So, did you guys only make out?" she queries, her eyebrow raised.

I scoff, "Yes, Chris, we only made out."

"Did you like it?"

"Oh my God," I roll my eyes at her. "Yes, he's amazing."

"Speak of the devil," Christina mutters, nodding towards something through my windshield. Looking out, I see that Tobias is walking towards us. I roll down my window as he reaches us, and he greets me with a quick kiss.

"Hey," he says, leaning in for another kiss.

"Hey, babe," I reply after he pulls back.

"Hi, Four!" Chris sarcastically exclaims from behind me.

"Hey, Chris," he acknowledges her only for a second before turning his attention back to me. "I was wondering, we've been dating almost a month now, and I haven't even taken you out on a date."

"How rude of you," I comment.

Tobias nods, chuckling. "So what do you think about me taking you out tomorrow night?"

"What do I think?" I tease. Tobias playfully rolls his eyes, and I lean over to kiss him. "I would love that," I whisper before pressing my lips to his.

The bell rings then, and I pull away from him. After rolling up my window, I turn my car off and take my keys out of the ignition. Christina climbs out of my Jeep just as Tobias opens my door for me. I slide down from my seat, opening my backseat door as Tobias wraps his arms around me from behind, not letting me go anywhere

"Babe," I whine, drawing it out.

"What?" he asks, copying my voice.

"Let me grab my backpack!" Tobias loosens his grasp but doesn't let me go. I swing my backpack over my shoulder after grabbing it from the backseat, and turn around in his arms. His hand then cups my cheek and he leans down to kiss me. The kiss is long and sweet, until Christina starts to yell at us.

"Let's go!" Chris walks around to our side of the car and takes my hand. "I don't know if you two forgot, but we have class to get to, unless you both want to stay here and suck each other's faces." Just to get under her skin, I tear my hand from hers and snake my arms around Tobias's neck, luring him in for another kiss. "Come on," she wails, and I finally detangle myself from Tobias. Christina grumbles the whole way to class, muttering annoyed comments here and there, but I don't pay any attention to it.

After coming home from the sleepover at Shauna and Lynn's, I spend the majority of Saturday curled up in bed, binge-watching Grey's Anatomy. I text Tobias throughout the day, asking for details about our date. All he tells me is to dress warm and that he'll pick me up at seven.

Around five-thirty, I decide that I should probably crawl out of bed and take a shower. It's quick and refreshing, but then I struggle with picking out an outfit. With fifteen minutes of deliberation, I finally choose a grey, green, and black long sleeve shirt I got in Idaho, high waisted mom jeans, and black Doc Martens.

I throw on a couple of layered gold necklaces and few gold rings before heading back to my bathroom to do my hair and makeup. While curling my hair, I check the time to see that it's a little before six-thirty now. Then I start on makeup, only doing my simple, everyday look.

When I'm done I have about fifteen extra minutes to hang before Tobias will be here, so I just lay on my bed and scroll through Instagram and go through Snapchat.

At six-fifty-five, the sound of the doorbell rings throughout the house. I spring up from my bed and grab my purse and Patagonia jacket from my desk chair before. Dad has answered the door before I got the chance to get all the way downstairs, and I can see Tobias standing in the doorway.

Once I've reached the last step, I head over to Tobias and my Dad, almost standing between them.

"You ready to go?" Tobias asks after enveloping me in a hug.

"Yep," I reply with a smile, taking his hand.

"Eleven!" Dad stresses as we walk out the front door onto the porch.

"Okay," I comply in a sing-song voice, closing the door behind us. Tobias leads me to his car that he parked on the street, his fingers laced with mine. He opens the passenger door for me when we reach his car and I climb in.
