"You're so cute! I missed you so much."

Sivaangi cooed at her cat, rubbing behind its ears. Ashwin scoffed in disbelief and glared at her. After 3 months of shooting, he finally got a day alone and she chose to spend time with her cat rather than him? Absurd.

Sivaangi grinned at Shenba. "Ashwineyy semma cute la?"

(Ashwineyy she's so cute right?)

Ashwin hummed disinterestedly, focusing on the TV which was playing some mindless show. He couldn't focus for long however, when his wife was right next to him, in that darn beautiful blue saree but was coddling their cat instead of him. He sighed and turned to her,

"Sivaangi ma," he said. Sivaangi didn't hear him, too busy playing with Shenba.

He was getting kicked now. "Oi rowdy,"

"Sollu Ashwineyy," she said even though her eyes didn't leave the feline.

(Tell me Ashwineyy.)

Ashwin faltered for a moment before he said, "Padam paakalama? Illa engeyavathu veliya polama?"

(Let's watch a movie? Or go out somewhere?)

She hummed and said, "Illa Ashwineyy, I want to play with Shenba!"

(No Ashwineyy.)

Ashwin stared at her bewildered before glaring at the cat who just innocently stared at him. Poonai kitta thothutada Ashwin, he thought.

He sighed in defeat and laid down on the kitchen, closing his eyes. The room was quiet for a moment except for Shenbas mewls and Sivaangi's coos. Ashwin, however, was having a hard time. Every time he closed his eyes, all he could see was the image of Sivaangi in that saree. He opened his eyes in frustration and said,

"Sivaangi ma."

She hummed in response and Ashwin didn't let it go, "Enna paaru."

(Look at me.)

She glanced at him for a moment and said, "Enna Ashwineyy?"

(What Ashwineyy?)

Ashwin groaned, "Yen ma, romba masam kalichu naa vantha nee poonai oda veladayara."

(I'm here after months, you're engrossed with the cat.)

Sivaangi turned to look at him, and that's when she saw his visibly upset face. She giggled, and Ashwin glared at her.

"Sorry, you just look so cute when you're angry."

He rolled his eyes, "Ithellam mattum sollu. Purushan vantha, poonai oda velayadu. Ithula podava vera. Pavam manushan ku self control illa la?"

(You're all talk. But if I come home after months, you focus on the cat. You're wearing a saree as well. I only have so much self control.)

Sivaangi laughed and said, "Mr. Ashwin Kumar, are you jealous of my cat?"

Ashwin looked at her, "I'm not jealous!" he defended.  He slumped onto the sofa,

"I just missed you."

Sivaangi walked over to him, and sat on his lap. He huffed and turned his face away. "Ashwineyy," she said. He didn't budge and still had his head turned.

"Manna," she tried. Still nothing. She leaned forward and kissed his cheek, and travelled down to his jaw. He couldn't ignore the way her body felt or the way the saree hugged all of her curves. He looked at her, a fleeting glance before shifting his gaze. Sivaangi smiled and moved up to his ear, her nose brushing against the shell of his ear, giving goosebumps. She whispered,

"Mama."

That broke him. He turned to look at her and he could see the mischievous glint in her eyes. He leaned forward and said, "Kedi," before crashing his lips onto hers, pushing her body closer to his. They kissed for god knows how long, until they couldn't breathe. They broke apart, chests heaving and Sivaangi's hair and saree visibly disheveled and crumpled up from his hands. They looked at each other and she said,

"Ippo okay va?"

(Satisfied now?)

Ashwin shook his head, "Innum neraiya iruku."

(There's still more.)

Sivaangi giggled and pulled him in for another kiss but was interrupted by a small mewl. They looked to the side and saw Shenba stare at them disapprovingly. Sivaangi laughed and Ashwin smiled. Shenba looked at them as if to say, En munnadi ithellam vanthu pananuma?

Sivaangi got off his lap and picked Shenba up, placing her on her bed. Ashwin walked towards her and back hugged her, nuzzling his nose into her neck. She giggled at the feeling,

"Enna panringa?"

(What are you doing?)

He kissed her neck, "Arambichatha mudika vendama?"

(Shouldn't we finish what we started?)

She turned around and Ashwin smiled brightly at her. He sighed, "I really missed you. Nee illama ethume panna mudiyala."

(I couldn't do anything without you.)

She smiled and kissed his forehead, "Neenga nejamave valarndha kozhandhai than."

(You really are a man child.)

Ashwin hummed, hugging her tightly. "Inimel shooting lam vendam, ippadiye irunthidalam."

(No more shooting. Let's just stay like this forever.)

Sivaangi laughed, "Aparam yaaru soru poduva?"

(Who will feed is then?)

"Athan nee irukiya, nee poi paatu paaditu vaa, naa veetla samaichu ellam pathukaren."

(You can earn for us and sing. I'll take care of the house and cooking.)

Sivaangi looked at him curiously, "Avalo missing ah?"

(Did you miss me that much?)

He looked at her, "You have no idea." He pulled back and kissed her briefly, "I can show you how much I missed you."

Sivaangi smiled into the kiss, "Appadiya?", she whispered. Ashwin nodded, and slowly pushed her inside their room. He closed the door behind him as they kissed slowly, melting into each other.

(Is that so?)

"Mama ku aarvam jasthi oh?" she said. Ashwin groaned against her lips. She could never understand why he loved that nickname so much, but it always sent him into a  frenzy whenever he did

(Is my Mama that eager?)

The afternoon sky grew darker as they melted into each other and the dawn brought upon a new beginning.
