It was end of May or early June, the summer before Evans senior year and things had changed a lot. For one thing, Jared had gotten a job at Lush. (when Evan had asked "why lush" Jared simply said "because of employee perks" what Jared had meant by that, Evan had no idea) His mom had been doing double shifts at the hospital, and no one really had time to hang out with Evan.

Sure Jared hung out with Evan once his shifts were over, but what was he supposed to do during the time while Jared was at work?? Sit alone?? With only himself and his thoughts?!?!? Ahaha, no. Evan couldn't do that, but he was too scared to tell Jared that so he just kept to himself.

Here's another thing, so Evan knows that Jared and his mom love him, he knows that they'd do anything for him, but he couldn't help but feel that they were avoiding him on purpose, ya know? He couldn't help but feel that they were doing everything they could to not have to hang out with him. And it hurt, stupid fucking anxiety.

Evan truly did feel that everyone he knew was trying to avoid him, like nobody cared about him. Perhaps that's why he was making his way to the tallest tree in this abandoned apple orchard.

And, To be honest with you, Evan really liked this orchard, he used to come here sometimes when his anxiety acted up, the scent of trees always seemed to calm him. Plus, he loves to climb the trees here. So, he found it suiting to do it here.

Before Evan knew it, he had arrived at his destination. A large apple/oak tree stood in front of the anxiety-ridden teen. Making him feel small in comparison. Evan took a large breath and began climbing the tree. One foot after the other, one branch then to another.

Evan reached the top of the tree rather quickly, probably because he had been climbing trees since he was like seven. He positioned himself so that he was standing on a single branch while holding on to the trunk of the tree. Evan looked around at the view from the top, it was breathtaking, seeing acres after acre of trees on a picture-perfect afternoon. Evan felt glad that this would be the last thing he ever saw.

He felt the sun shining on his face, and was about take another breath before jumping when he suddenly felt the branch below him give way. Instinctively, He grabbed hold to another branch nearby so he was now dangling *insert number here* feet off the ground.

If he really wanted to, he could've tried to grab hold of another branch with his foot, to prevent him from falling. But the truth is, he didn't want to do that, he just wanted to let go and be free from all the worries in his life.

So that's just what he did.

He let his grip on the branch loosen until he was falling, letting the world pass by.

Connor had just jumped the fence into an abandoned orchard. One of his favorite places to get high. And was just about to do that when he heard a loud thump coming from somewhere in the orchard. Obviously, he quickly ran towards where the sound came from.

Before Evan knew it he was on the ground. He couldn't see anything, (though that's probably just because his eyes are closed).

"Is this what death feels like?" he asked himself internally when suddenly a terrible thought struck him. Was he still alive? Did the fall not kill him like he thought it would? His questions were soon answered by pain in his left arm, or more accurately, the lack thereof.
