Chapter Seven, Construction and Secret Meetings

Once the planning confirmation had gone through, Jasper paid for the best builders money could buy, and due to being the last Whitlock, and due to how long he's lived so far and the numerous jobs he's taken in his lifetime, Jasper accumulated a rather large lot of money. Money that was completely separate to what Carlisle and Claire allowed them to use, and he would still have more than enough for several lifetimes once the planning and building was complete. When they had a moment to spare Jasper and the others also worked on the house when the builders had left - they had only been paid to do the foundation and the bones of the house - while the Cullens would finish it off (otherwise it could take anything up to a year to complete) without drawing attention.

Which is why Jasper was working on the house as soon as school let out. During the few weeks that had passed since the meeting Margot and Jasper had become closer as they secretly passed notes to each other without anyone the wiser, a rather inventive way to get to know his mate if Jasper said so himself. With a smirk upon his lips Jasper got to work, working until sunset when Emmett, Esme, Alice, Rosalie and Claire arrived to take over for Jasper, now that they had hunted. Carlisle was most likely at his shift at the hospital and as for Edward, he was probably sulking at home, Jasper mused.

He's become almost unbearable in recent weeks and, Jasper was tempted to just let Major out and be done with it.
"Jasper, darling, why don't you go hunting? We'll finish the rest." Esme called up to her son, who was on the roof laying the titles.
"No arguments. Go!" Claire said sternly, when Jasper opened his mouth to argue but closed it as Claire jumped up onto the roof.
"Fine. Thank you." Jasper said gratefully to his aunt, handing over the tools to finish laying the rest of the remaining tiles on the roof.
