Chapter 17

"Are you okay?" Camila asked as she began to approach Richard with a bottle of water in her hand. She can clearly hear his weeps and somehow, she felt so much empathy on him because Lauren left her once before (well, she thought)

The guy then thanked her as he took the bottle out of the brunette's hand but chose to not drink. He's been crying since he went in from outside and Camila found out that he ended everything with his lover

"Mary's leaving, Mila. I'm scared so I did it... And I- I just watched her cry. That tearstained face was the last thing I saw before she left. I'm such a fucked up coward" he cries. His voice were drowned in rue and Camila could clearly hear the regret from it

Sighing, the brunette began to hush him as she crouched down to rub his back "it'll be alright. Send her a letter" she stated hopefully. Camila has this hopeful and bright side despite of how her life can be so much of a tarnation and Richard is thankful to have her in his doleful life

"I don't think I can, Mila. I never got her address before she left" he looked at her with a smile of appreciation nonetheless.

And yet Camila's heart still aches

It is halloween today and she felt sad that he doesn't have someone to come with him for trick or treats

"Don't cry, Richie. Mary wouldn't like it if she saw you like this" Sofia, who's on the other side of Richard, spoke as well. Her hands were also resting on his back. Imitating her sister's gesture; rubbing his back with her small hand

"She's right, Rich. Mary knows the address after all, right? She'll send you one, and if not, know that her heart was once yours" Camila stated as she began to wipe the tears off his cheek. He may be a musculine one with full of tattoos on his body. He may look fierce and strong on the outside but this is the second time that Camila saw her friend whimpering like this. He really loved her huh? She wondered again if she'd be like this too if Lauren really left and thought of how she don't want to ever imagine something like that again

"Thank you, guys" he laughed in between his cries. Voice a little huskier as he hugs the both of them with his huge arms

"Do you wanna go with us? We're going to do trick or treats. It will be very fun!" Sofia suggested as they let go of each other's embrace. Camila's face lit up at the suggestion and Richard can't just help but to smile at the cuteness of these two

"I appreciate it, but I don't really wanna go right now" he said with a grin. His eyes were red but Camila was still glad that they made him smile nonetheless

"Is that so? Then will you be alright here alone?" Camila asked worriedly. The guy just shook his head with a smile

"I'll be alright, Mila. Go! Have fun, okay?" He said as he pushed the two out of his room in the burned and abandoned building

"We will! Bye Richieee~" Sofia sang as she's waving to the guy enthusiastically

"Try to not think much of it, okay? See you, Richie!" That's what Camila said before she went down that building together with Sofi who's now dragging her in excitement

"Kaki, why do you walk like a turtle? Faster, okay? Like this!" She stated as she run through the alley in anticipation. Somehow, the dark alley looks somewhat alive with the bright skies above. The weather's intermittent lately. It's been raining for some days but most are not. Camila just really wish that today won't rain like it did the other day

"Sofi! Come back here!" She called out for her song to come back, then chased after her

But as she runs through the narrow alley, she ended up bumping on a drunk and buffed man.
