Knock
Knock
KnockMy heart raced as I waited for an answer after knocking. I could hear voices on the other side. I fixed my clothes, my hair and smiled. The door opened and our eyes met.
"(Y/N)...?"
"Dad...?"
He dropped the book that was in his hand and gasped before throwing the door open and pulling me into a hug."My little girl." He whimpered, burying his face into my shoulder.
"Honey, who's at the...door?" My mother entered the living room and her eyes met mine as well. My father finally let go and my mother came sprinting toward me, pulling me into yet another bone crushing embrace.
"You're here! B-but why? And where's Markus?" She asked frantically. My father began to growl just hearing that name.
"He's at the house. He...said somethings, and it got me thinking. I spent the entire day crying, fearing you guys didn't love me anymore." I explained.
"Oh, (Y/N), no matter what happens, we could never stop loving you. Your our daughter, our one and only little angel. You're a grown woman now, and you've got your own place. We're proud of you, even if we don't like your boyfriend." My mother punched my cheeks and booped my nose as she smiled warmly at me.
They welcomed me inside and shut the door behind us.
"That house that I moved into with him, it's nice and all but it's just not home. I don't feel all that comfortable in such a huge place with all the butlers and stuff. That's not who I am, and it's not who I wanna be. Markus is very generous with me when it comes to money, but it feels like that all he has to offer. I'm kinda bored of it now. I also think I'm bored of our relationship." I started getting into my true feelings as the three of us sat on the couch. My dad muted the tv and brought me a glass of ice tea.
"Have you talked to him about it?" He asked.
"No. For some reason, I get nervous when I think about telling him stuff like that. I feel like he might get upset." I shrug.
"That's no good. Not good at all!" My mother exclaimed angrily."No one should ever make you feel that way. If you can't be honest with them, there's no trust. And no trust means your relationship is doomed to fail."
"Your mother is absolutely right," my father says."You have to let him know how you really feel. Being transparent with your partner is the first step in the right direction."
I nod, letting them know that I understand.
We talked for a while longer, remembering the good times and funny moments with family and friends. Ice tea nearly shot out of my nose when mom told me how my dad nearly threw his back out picking up his underwear in the laundry room.
"So, since you're here, how about you stay for dinner. I'll make whatever you want." My mom offered. I got to thinking and blurted out.
"Lasagna!"

Pico POV
Skid, Pump, and I walked through the mall. More like I walked, and they jumped around.
"Oh, candy store!" They shout in unison, pointing to a store different from the one we normally go to. This one was less bright and colorful.
"Nope. Your mother said no candy, Skid. And since you can't have candy, it would be unfair for me and Pump to have it." I reply to them, making them awe in disappointment.
"Since we can't have candy," Skid began."You have to tell us a secret!" Pump finished his sentence
"What? Since when?"
"Since now!" Said Skid.
"Tch, fine. I ain't got nothin' to hide." I scoffed."Gimme your best."
They look at each other and nod before turning to me."Do you like Miss (Y/N)?" They ask in unison.
I freeze in place, shocked at their question. These kids are way too smart. I thought.
"I just met her yesterday. But so far, she's been a good friend."
"Nooo! You like like her, don't you?" Pump pointed an accusing finger at me. My cheeks were beet red as I growled at the boys laughing at me.
"Don't get mad. My mom said that's called Love at First Sight." Skid said proudly.
He was definitely right but can I really do that? She's got a boyfriend. I'm just some random guy she met at a club. I've got little to no chance with her at all.
"Is it true, Mr. Pico? Do you like her?" Pump inquires again.
"Maybe. I mean, she's cute. She's funny, and nice...She's an amazing dancer. She likes video games. She's super chill. And her little squeak she thought I didn't hear when we watched IT was adorable." I'd gone off on a tangent about how much I like her and didn't even realize it until I looked down at Skid and Pump smirking at me.
"W-what?"
"It sounds to us like you don't just like her. You looooove her!" Pump teased me.
"No, I don't!"
"Yes you do! Tag, you're it!" Skid teased me before poking my leg and he and Pump took off.
"What the- Get back here!" I run off in the same direction. They run passed, through, and around people's legs while I have to skillfully dodge people to keep up with their tiny legs.
They slide down the banister of the escalator, landing on the ground floor of the building and taking off, disappearing into the crowd of shoppers.
I run back up to the second level and look over the balcony, catching the two rascals in my sights. Running along the second floor I watch as they run into a random clothing store.
Grabbing onto the rail, I jump and land onto the first floor, scaring a random lady sitting on a bench and charge into the store.
I spotted them just as they ran into a circular rack of dresses in the women's section. Reaching in and feeling around, I pulled them out instantly.
They both laughed hysterically as I held them in my arms."What have I told you two about running away from me, huh?" I say as I tickle them and they kick their little legs, laughing harder.
The giggled died down as I carried them out of the store and we discussed what to do next."What's for dinner?" Skid asks, looking in the direction of the food court.
"Nothing from here. I'll make something when we get back home."
"Yay, Pico's cooking!" Both boys threw their hands in the air ecstatically.
