I sat in the room Jenna and I shared angry and alone.
That stupid idiot can't keep his hands to himself, then gets mad at me when I tell him not to go hitting people!
I was mumbling to myself angrily as I examined the developing bruise on my arm from that guy hitting me by accident. It was nowhere near the level of his nose that was likely broken, and his hand that was now covered in cuts.
Part of me was angry at his persistent advances on me, but the other part felt bad that he was hurt. Maybe if I see him again, I'll apologize correctly. Maybe we can even become friends. I smile, finally lowering my sleeve.
I'd changed my clothes into a simple T-shirt and jean shorts since I didn't think I'd be doing anything else today. But the day was still so young, so I decided I'd go and check out the arcade after all.
Even if I play all by myself.
I fix my hair one last time before I exit the hotel room and enter the elevator yet again. The cracked window reminded me of the events from a while earlier.
Even though he swung at me, the stranger still didn't deserve what happened to him.
I shook the thoughts from my head and focused solely on having fun and enjoying this vacation while it lasted. After asking directions from the lady at the counter, I'm given a map of the entire resort and eventually find the arcade. I keep the map in my back pocket since I get lost quite easily.
Here I am, in a room filled with video games. My dream come true!
I make my way to the Mario Kart game but stop when I see a huge crowd surrounding the DDR game. Approaching the crowd slowly, I stand on my toes so I can get a better look at who's playing. I'm not able to see much except for a pair of big, grey ears.
The song that was playing wasn't familiar to me in the slightest, but it sounded nice.
"This guy is insane!" A much taller person from beside me says.
"Who is he?" I ask politely.
"His name is Kapi. He's like, the ultimate DDR champion!" He explains enthusiastically."Not just that, but he's a street dancer too. He's got mad skills."
"Ooh, a fellow dancer." My interest was officially piqued, so I wanted to get a closer look at this Kapi character. I gently shimmy my way through the crowd, stopping just before I reach the dance pad.
In front of me was a grey cat with amazing dancing skills. He'd finally completed the song and his results were shown.
All perfect hits, zero misses, and a new high school of 550,000.
"Dang, I was going for 560K." He says, ignoring the applause from the roaring crowd. He hops off the dance pad and the crowd disperses, but I remain behind.
"You're really good. Where'd you learn?" I ask. He seems surprised at first, but smiles anyway."Self taught. You?"
"Me? What about me?"
"I've seen you dance at the night club a few miles from here. You're good too."
"You've seen me? I bet I looked ridiculous to you, huh? You definitely have more experience than me." I laugh sheepishly."Not at all. I don't think any dancer looks ridiculous. Well, except people who do the chicken dance. Like, come on, let it die already."
We laugh together at his joke.
"Hey, you wanna go a few rounds?" He offers. I hesitate, but of course I accept.
