Third POV

Jenna dropped Pico off at the train station and he bid farewell to his friends. He smiled at (Y/N) one last time as the vehicle pulled off and he turned around to walk through the strain station. He passed many people on the way to the ticket booth, many people who were also going to wait in the extremely long line.

He took out his phone with a practically shattered screen and checked the time. It was almost 8:40. He knew he'd be in this line forever so he decided to take an alternative route.

He left the line, walking into a fire escape exit and going up the stairs until he reached the rooftop, walking to the edge and looking down, seeing a train loading up on passengers. He watched and waited.

His phone rang, letting him know his friend was calling."Yo." He answered.

"Pico, my man! Wassup, dawg?" Darnell greeted him.

"On my way back to the crib, just waiting for the train to move." He replied, looking down at the still vehicle.

"Meet us at the abandoned hotel two blocks from your place. Gotta pick up my shit."

"You can't pick up weed without me by your side?" He questioned. The train finally began to move and he started walking, following the vehicle by hopping across different roof tops.

"Me and Nene are gonna buy from my guy, then we hit the hotel. We got some info you might wanna hear."

Pico ran faster, reaching one last building before jumping down and landing on the roof of the train."Gotcha."

He rode the top of the train until the next station before hopping off and landing on the platform. The ginger walked swiftly to the abandoned hotel that he normally met Darnell and Nene at and waited. It wasn't long before the African American male and Asian girl showed up.

Nene was twirling a knife in her hand while Darnell lit the blunt in his mouth.

"You didn't wait too long, did you?" Nene asked with a smirk before she jabbed the blade at Pico's neck, stopping just as the sharp tip poked his skin.

"Nah, I just got here not too long ago." He said with no flinching whatsoever. She scoffed, attempting to stab Pico in the eyes, but he dodged effortlessly.

"Nene, stop trying to stab him." Darnell said, blowing smoke out of his mouth.

"This cocky bastard won't stop moving! Stop dodging me!" She yelled, continuously shoving the blame in his direction, but missing.

Pico only smirked, which ticked her off more. Darnell only rolled his eyes and took another puff.

"So what's this info you two heard?" Pico inquired, grabbing Nene's hand and holding it in place. She grunted, struggling to free her wrist from his tight grip.

"Cops are working on a drug bust, but they're stretching them selves thin between that and the murders going on around the city. Word is, they go missing for two months exactly before turning up dead somewhere near the last place they were seen." He begins.

"You think the two are related?"

"The three victims so far have all been known to do some sort of drug, be it weed, coke, or whatever. They were totally addicted and wanted criminals for that reason. But they're gone now." Nene said. This got Pico thinking.

"So, with this info, you didn't think it was dangerous to go buy weed today?" Pico asked, squinting at his black friend.

"We were gathering intel," Nene finally ripped her wrist from his grasp."But the bitch didn't know shit. So we gotta hit up some more dealers to investigate."

"Right. And, how would I be of any help? I don't buy drugs, so I don't know any dealers." Pico shook his head.

"You'll be coming with me," Darnell smirked, blowing stinky smoke in Pico's face, making him cough and growl at him."Nene can handle her own investigation. But I need your help in case shit goes south. I can't go blowing shit up with no consideration for the consequences. You, on the other hand know how to kick ass without destroying everything. We don't want to kill anyone this go 'round. We just need info."

Flattered by the compliment, Pico nodded."Fine. I'll do whatever you need. But, we need to make this quick. I've got somewhere to be next week."

"Really, where?" Nene inquires, twirling her knife again.

He blushed slightly, but the darkness was able to conceal it from his friends."Just a...vacation, y'know? Much needed break."

"Ooh, can we come?!"

Nene started jumping around, begging to go on this vacation with him."I can't just bring more people. I'm a guest to someone else."

"Ooh, is it a girl?"

"Ew, no."

"Is it a guy?" Darnell asked, warning a scowl from the ginger.

"Stop questioning me!" He blushed furiously.

"Gay." The two grinned at each other, making Pico more angry.

He rolled his eyes and took a breath.

"Excuse me," a voice surprised them, causing the three of them to take out their weapons just in case. But it was just a homeless man carrying a small bag."Got any change to spare?" He asked in a groggy voice.

From experience, the trio knew whatever they gave would would go to drugs, alcohol, or both, and didn't feel like wasting their dough on his habits. Darnell, smirked and tossed his blunt to the ground.

"Maybe. If you can answer a few questions for me."

"Uh, sure."

The trio leave the abandoned hotel, unsatisfied with the old man's lackluster answers."He probably just wasn't sure what you were talking about." Nene shrugged, walking on the eggs if the curb while the boys walked on the sidewalk beside her.

"I spent 15 minutes explaining it to him!" Darnell exclaimed. Pico patted him on the back."Chill, bro. He's old, so he probably just doesn't get it. It's nothing to fret over."

The dark skinned boy sighed with a face palm, frustrated and tired."Fuck that guy."

"I still don't understand why we have to question people when the cops are already working on it." Says Nene, throwing a knife into an open car window as it passes, killing the driver and causing the car to crash into a pole.

"Nene, you gotta stop killing people before the cops come after you next." Pico chuckled.

"Fuck tha police, coming straight from the underground! A young n-"

"Say it. I fuckin' dare you." Darnell stopped her before she sealed her fate.

Pico laughed to himself. The three finally reached Pico's apartment where he welcomed them to stay the the night. Nene called dibs on showering first, as always.

Pico was too tired to shower.

And Darnell....well, he always smells good.

The ginger headed make sat on the couch, staring blankly at a wall across the room in deep thought about what Darnell and Nene told him. He still wasn't sure why they had to help when the cops should handle it.

It was likely just another one of Darnell's bad feelings again. Whenever he got a got feeling that something was wrong, 9/10 times he's right. He shrugged it off and kept his word that he would do his best to help before his vacation.

The three of them got comfy in the living room with blankets and pillows while they watched a movie on Pico's small flat screen tv sitting on the floor.

Whatever happens, I just want the people I care about to come out unscathed...
