Lawrence POV

"I'll be your coach for this year!" He yelled, "I'm Coach Thompson"

My parents wanted me to play fastpitch. They thought I'd suit it. Since my life is boring, I thought why not. My father was a professional baseball player. Parents told me that this is a recreational team. People throughout 8th and 12th grade were able to join.

"Introduce yourselves..." He announced. I'm anxious. "Starting from you"

Ahh. Great. He pointed to me.

"Lawrence Wilson"

"Next"

"Turner..."

All the players I am to meet, were in line. I didn't hear anyone introduce themselves. I don't really care.

"I'm Alex Williams!" Someone exclaimed loudly. I bent over a bit, looking at them. They have such a big smile. I chuckled a bit. He seems like a fun dude. He looks a bit older than me.

-

"Hey!" I heard someone call.

"Hello" I glanced to them. It was the high-spirited dude.

"I'm Alex Williams"

He held out his hand.

"Lawrence Wilson"

I smiled. Shaking his hand.

"Say. Do you want to hang our after practice?"

"What's in it for me?" I asked.

"Becoming my friend!" He said lightly.

"Hahaa" I laughed, "Sure"

"What grade are you in?" He asked.

"8th"

"I see," He looked down, "11th" he repiled.

I'm not really shocked. He's tall and massive. The ideal baseball player.

"We're going to do formations!" The Coach shouted. We both went to stand in line.

-

"Where do you want to hang out?" He asked.

He could just take us where he wants to go.

"Um. Cafe?"

He nodded.

"Wait. I need to tell my parents" I said.

"Okay"

I typed away on my phone.

This is exciting. Thrilling, even. I haven't had this much fun with someone in forever. I've never had a friend. My hands are shaking a bit.

"I know a cafe nearby the school. It isn't that much of a walk" He said.
