Amber POV

Ahh. I'm getting a headache. Reading Romeo and Juliet.

I took a deep breath in.

When is my love ever going to come? Everyone is in a relationship nowadays. Within my friends too.
Though, I'm happy, Lawrence finally found his true feelings. Especially for that handsome man.

Like way to go, Lawrence! I guess I have to get my life together.

I exited the room. I found Lawrence chuckling to himself, typing away.

It's like I'm seeing a whole new side.

"Hey" I greeted.

"Oh. Hey" he repiled shyly.

"Is that your boyfriend??" I teased.

"Shut up-" he covered his phone.

"Let me see~" I tried to take his device.

Damn him and his height.

"Why are you like this?" he laughed a bit.

"You guys make me lonely" I pouted.

"Ah. Well someone is waiting for you"

"I was waiting to hear, 'there are plenty of fishes out there'" I replied.

He laughed.

"Wait. Why are you even here? Didn't you graduate?" I asked worriedly.

"You just realize now?" he giggled, "I'm dropping something off for Felix"

"I see," the bell rung, "well I gotta go"

I dashed away.

-

This is bad. I can feel my heart rising. And aching headache. Abdominal cramps, begging for anything related to an alpha.

This sucks.

I dug into my purse, searching for my inhibitors.

I can't find them. Where did they go?

"Looking for these?"

A voice said. I would be lying if I said I wasn't scared. I've seen many mangas where they blackmail or coerce someone.

Slowly, I turned towards them.

It's... August's sister? Natalie?

I exhaled a breath of relief.

"Don't lose them next time" she gave it back.

"Thanks"

The situation made me forget about my heat in general, the symptoms.

I chugged down the pills, as many as I can. Coughing some out.

"Are you okay?" she patted my back, "I think you took too many"

Unable to say anything, to fill the silence left by my coughing.

"Mn" I murmured.

"I rented a hotel room nearby, I can bring you there if you want?" she quickly brought her hands to her face, "not for those reasons though!"

Her face became red.

She's kind of amusing.

"I'll be somewhere else the entire time! I'm a beta, you know?"

"Hahaa. Yes, you can lay off the consideration. Thank you" I smiled.

-

We had ran into more coincidences. Meeting at the same laundry mat, cafe, gym, etc. It was like fate? Or was I being stalked by a beautiful model? Either way is the way to go.

"Natalie?" I caught her attention.

She's glancing over magazines, with her face on it.

"Yes?"

"Are you following me?" I asked.

"No, but yes? I was worried about you and your heats"

But that isn't really a concern that should bother her.

"Phone" I sat down. I hung my hand out.

"Um. Okay, but why?" she offered her phone.

"I'll call you if I need you. Besides, I thought models were busy"

She doesn't live here either. Has she been making time for me?

"I am, it's just Julius is so adorable. I can't miss any time with him. They're so willing to let anyone babysit him!" she gushed.

She's being taking advantage of, how sad. Though, she had stayed here for Julius and not me. Somehow, am I disappointed?

"Look how big he has already gotten" she swiped her phone, showing me an entire gallery just for Julius.

"How cuuute" I repiled.

I'm falling in love with one of the most ignorant people. She's also my friend's older sister. Her smile is radiant.

-

-few weeks later-

"I'm thinking about moving back home. I miss it here"

"Oh wow" I answered back.

"Since you have an extra room, I was thinking I could rent it out?" she asked. Her eyes squinted together. Hands smacked on top of each other.

Couldn't she afford one her own?

"Sure. I just have to move things out"

I still left that in there.

"Thank you!"

-

"So you'll be staying in this roo-" I cut myself off.

Did I clean that room? I don't think I did.

"I'll be right back" I chuckled.

Entering that room, it's a painful reminder of what I was. An art genius, but I lost it all. A hand injury was all it took. My parents disowned me.

'I knew it would turn out this way. Look at her, she just reeks failure'

'It's natural, she's an omega! Hahahaa'

The noises I had so desperately tried to block out, came again.

A blank canvas is seen, splatters of paint across it. Torn up brushes. An oily brick smell.

'If only you were as half as good as your brother. What a joke.'

"Amber?" A voice called for me.

"Yeah?" My voice cracked.

"I'm coming in" she barged through the door, "woah," she took in the new setting of the room, returning her eyes to the canvas.

"Did you paint that?" she asked curiously.

I nodded.

"No way! It looks so real!" she grinned brightly.

Just then, the sun hit her face perfectly. Bringing out her smile, midnight eyes and grossly hair.

"You still paint?"

I swayed my head back and forth.

I don't paint but I want to now. I want to sculpt her face, blend the colors, shade the features.

"I think I will again"

How stupid, yet so beautiful.

-End of Chapter-

Other notes:
