Request from cristianjosuechele. This takes place after the final battle if the Tree of Life.
Night had fallen after the Lion Guard and the Night Pride had defeated the trespassers from the Tree of Life. They were victorious and now resting tonight...unaware of two trespassers still lurking.
Makucha had refused to accept this defeat. Not until he had a bite of a rare prey. Thankfully, he found Chuluun and she was ok, much to his relief.
The two decided to rest a bit since they were hit pretty hard from Kion's roar. Night had fallen and the two leopards saw it the perfect chance to hunt. To get their own victory tonight.
"Come on" Makucha whispered to Chuluun catiously, not wanting to get caught. That final blow was a hard one and both leopards had took a rest to ease their sore, aching bodies until they felt better enough to hunt. Makucha did not want to go through it again.
The two cats stealthily snuck through the long grass and they can tell they were getting close to the rare prey because some of scents were new and unrecognizable but also thrilling at the same time for them.
Makucha's eyes widen when he saw some of the rare prey. There were musk deer, mountain goats, Bacterian camels and more. The leopard smiled evilly, already itching to catch one them and devour it. He was finally going to get his own victory tonight. Him and Chuluun.
"Look Chuluun. Look at all that rare and tasty prey, completely unaware that we're here" he told her, wanting her to savor this sight. "You do know that if we get caught again, we might get that powerful roar and I'm not going through that again" she reminded him serious and sternly.
As much as she craved to finally have the prey they were so eagered to hunt, it wasn't worth feeling another blow from the roar. This would be the last chance for Chuluun. That's it.
Makucha turned to her smirking "Relax. Tonight will be our victory. We'll finally enjoy a feast of rare meals in our favor" he told her determined and confident. She rolled her eyes at him. "You are very persistent you know that?" She told him a bit annoyed.
"Yes. I do know that" he agreed with her as he turned back back the prey. She did smile at him amused "And yet I like that" she told him amusingly. Makucha did look back at her with a warm smile. He was glad to have her by his side to feast with him.
The two looked back at their prey, completely unaware of the danger tonight. The two crouched down to the ground, claws out, their eyes focused on the prey.
"When I roar, that's we go for the kill. Got it?" He whispered to Chuluun and she nodded.
"ROAR!" Makucha roared loudly and he leaped out of the grass, charging straight towards any prey close in his sights. Chuluun followed after him, letting out a loud roar as she went another direction to get a prey to her liking.
Once the animals heard the roar and saw the leopards, they scattered in panic, making all kinds of animal sounds. Makucha had spotted a musk deer and quickly after it, hot on its tail.
He jumped onto the deer, sinking his claws and teeth in it and they both tumbled to the ground, the prey finished. The leopard knew the night pride and the guard could show up any moment with all this alarm and panic so he quickly started eating his prey.
Chuluun meanwhile caught a mountain goat, her favorite prey from her cold snowy home and she happily devoured, ripping at the meat with her sharp teeth. Both of them were enjoying this rare yet thrilling meal. They've never tasted anything like it.
Makucha was thrilled and overjoyed to finally have his own victory for once. He and Chuluun had traveled far from their home, fought their enemies, sustained humiliating defeats and hard blows but tonight it would be all worth it.
As he teared through the meat of his prey, he roared victoriously before continuing enjoying his fresh kill. His roar might attract attention from their enemies but right now he didn't think or even care at this point. What made his victory even sweeter was sharing it with Chuluun, the one he recruited first. The one who stood by him through everything. He told her that if she joined him, they would gain so much more and they did.
Chuluun hummed at the delicious meat she was enjoying. But her ears twitched at a roar. She smiled to herself, assuming it must've been Makucha since she heard the first one. She was glad that he was happy and that she was with him enjoying.
However, as she went for another bite, her nose twitched at a scent and her smile faded. This scent was Makucha's, their prey or any of the animals they saw. Her eyes widen when she recognized the scent belong to the lions.
"Makucha! We need to-" she stood up quickly to warn her partner but before she could finish...
"ROAR!" A loud roar erupted and brought both their attention a story turned their heads. The Lion Guard and the Night Pride were now before them with Kion at the front of them glaring and growling ferociously.
"Oh no" Chuluun said annoyed as she stepped back, ready to run but Makucha just chuckled at them. They had arrived a bit late on enough for the leopards to enjoy their victory.
"ROAR!" Kion let out the Roar at them once again and it set the two leopards flying far the Tree of Life. They both hit the ground really hard, harder than last time.
Chuluun groaned in pain, feeling her body ached as she stood up. She turned her head to glare at Makucha annoyed. "Ok. That's it. That's the last time we go near them" she told him firmly. She was keeping to her word. Another blow from that roar and she was done getting involved with the Night Pride and the guard.
Makucha chuckled at her, not minding if she was annoyed by him. "Alright. That's fine with me. After all, we finally got to be victorious" he told her, smirking evilly at her. Chuluun actually smirked back at him, agreeing with him.
They were both full, their stomachs felt fatten and the taste of the rare prey lingered in their mouths which they enjoyed. Tonight, Makucha and Chuluun were victorious this time.
