"Come on, you three. Follow Mama." Anga told her chicks as she turned around to walk away. The little hatchlings eagerly folllowed their mother, chirping nonstop. Ono was away, so Anga was watching the chicks. Needless to say, she was nervous about babysitting her chicks. This was new to her.

She felt something touch her feathers, so she glanced down to find her chicks snuggling in her wings like it was a blanket. The large marital eagle chuckled fondly at them as she kept walking with the chicks taking pursuit.

Anga stretched her long wings to get rid of the stiffness in them. She looked forward to flying again once Ono returned. She heard a small awe from the chicks and looked down to find them all looking up at her in amazement and wonder. They started to spread out their little wings, trying to mimic this powerful figure that was their mother.

They reminded her of herself as a small chick. Curious. Always in awe of her own parents with their large, mighty wings and prescence. As a chick, it puzzled her when they chuckled amusingly at her. Now, with chicks of her own, it made sense now because it was actually adorable.

"If Ono were here, he would be cooing and aweing at you little ones." She told them all, and they chirped back at her, as if they were responding back. Their tiny little chirps made her heart flutter as she smiled at them. It was a sweet melody to her. One she would miss dearly as they would grow.

Suddenly, one of the chicks ran to her and latched onto her legs, startling the first time mother. She glanced down at this very tiny bird, and as she leaned down curiously, it amazed how it was smaller than her head. It tilted its head curiously, and without warning, peck the top part of her beak as a way to give an affectionate kiss. A little way of saying i love you before it could learn to talk.

Her face got warm from that loving gesture as it chirped at her. Hesitantly, she returned the small peck on its little feathery head. It wasn't that she was disgusted by it. She was touched. Just this was new to her, and experience would teach her how to act around them as a mother.

However, as soon she did that, the chick chirped even more, and suddenly, all the chicks came chirping, hugging her legs as they jumped up and down for their mother's affectionate pecks. She chuckled at them lovingly, this time with confidence returning those pecks on each of their tiny little heads. While motherhood was still new to her, one thing Anga was confident was that she would love every one of her little chicks.

Fun fact. As I wrote this, I could hear the little chirps in my head it was too cute 🥰
