Request from Sarahs-World
It was sundown at the Tree of Life. Janna was walking, searching for her son Surak. She assumed he was out on patrol. And she was right. She spotted her son sitting on a flat rock, staring at the distance. However, it wasn't his usual spot to patrol. It wasn't outside the their home. So what was he staring at she wondered.
His mother followed his gaze and saw something that made her smirk. He was staring at Nirmala. The young lioness was lapping water at a lily pond. Unaware of the prince staring at her. Janna made her way over to her son. The closer she got, she could see his face clearly to read his expression.
Surak had on a soft and loving smile. His eyes half closed as if he was about to fall asleep. Janna quietly chuckled. She had never seen her serious and stoic son smile like that.
"Namaste Surak" she told him and he blinked in surprised and he turned to her direction. Her voice seemed to snap him out of his trance. "Namaste mother" he told her calmly as he walked over to her and nuzzled her.
"What are you doing out from the tree?" He asked her calmly. "I wanted to get some fresh air. I wanted to see your face my son. Just because I'm old, doesn't mean I can't spend time with my son" she explained to him, the last part was playful as she grinned at him. Surak smiled at his mother.
"I understand that. But at least tell me so I may escort you mother" he firmly told her. He didn't like his mother being alone without protection or going around without telling him. She chuckled at him "You worry too much my son" she told him as she turned to Nirmala's direction and Surak followed her gaze.
The lion saw Nirmala walking around the pond to one of the water lilies near her. She gently pawed one to bring it closer so she can smell it. The lioness brought her nose close to it so she could smell its scent. Her nose gently brushed on the petals which tickled her nose and sneezed.
Surak quietly chuckled at her and Janna saw that smile return. The lion found her sneeze cute. The queen grinned misheviously at her son.
"Surak. How are you and Nirmala getting along?" She asked him and her son turned to her surprised, stunned by that question. "Well, she's excelling in her training in combat. That I am pleased with. And she has begun to patrol with me" he explained to her.
Janna knows her son was training Nirmala. But that wasn't the answer she was looking for. "That's not what I asked Surak. I mean how are you as friends. Not allies" she explained to him and Surak opened his mouth but no words came out. He found himself hesitating.
The old queen smirked at him. "Oh? Are you perhaps more than friends?" She asked him and her son stared at her shocked. He felt his cheeks heat up and he blushed pink. "Mother. Nirmala and I are just friends. Anyway, I don't see how we can be more than friends" he told her, struggling to keep his voice calm and hide his nervousness.
"You can't. But I can. I saw the way you were smiling at Nirmala. And I've never seen you smile like that before" she explained to him and her son stared at her shocked, his blush deepening into this pink color.
"Also when you patrol, it's usually outside of our home. Not within. There's no danger lurking here" she told him, sounding innocent and puzzled. But Surak knew his mother was wise and not foolish. She would know the actual reason.
"Unless....this isn't a patrol. Are you perhaps admiring the view of our waterhole with its beautiful lilies? Or perhaps you spot a particular lily that stands out from the rest?" She asked him, the lily she referred to was Nirmala.
"Mother!" Surak told her loudly and surprised, his eyes widen. Janna chuckled at his reaction. She knew he didn't mean to raise his voice. It was actually amusing to her.
Her ears perked at an idea and she looked at the lioness. "Nirmala! Come here please" she called out to her as her son watched her wide eye and glanced at his friend. He wondered what his mother was up to now.
Nirmala's ears twitched at Janna's voice and she looked up at her. The lioness trotted her way over to them. "Yes my queen?" She asked her calmly.
"I want you and my son to go on a stroll. Together" she told her. Both Nirmala and Surak's eyes widen and Nirmala blushed too.
"P-Pardon?" She asked her, dumbfounded as she glanced at Surak. The prince shook his head, saying he didn't understand either. "Mother..." he asked her firmly, wanting an explanation. Janna smiled at him misheviously.
"Surak is exhausted from patrol and I think some fresh air will help him a bit. As well as having a companion to chat with on the walk" she explained to her as Surak inhaled deeply, clearly irritated by his mother.
"Mother. I am fine. I don't need rest" he told her firmly. "My queen, maybe it be better if Surak walks alone? He seems to prefer that" Nirmala asked her, looking away from them shyly. Janna looked at her surprised. "Oh? You and my son don't have any problems, do you? He hasn't done anything...secretive with you has he?" She asked her, the last part mishevious.
"Mother!" Surak told her horrified, his blush deepening. Nirmala's blush also got red and she looked at the queen wide eye. "What?! N-No! Surak hasn't done anything like that to me! No!" She denied it, shaking her head.
"Well that's a relief to here. I would be shocked if my son were to due something like that" she commented as Surak looked away from his mother, shaking his head. "Mother please!" He asked her desperately.
Janna smirked at him before she stood up to her feet. "Alright. I will be going now. I will leave you two be. Just don't do anything mishevious while your out of my sights" she told them, walking away. Nirmala and Surak were both blushing embarrassed and flustered a bit. Surak groaned annoyed, not expecting his own mother to embarrass him like that.
