"Yeah, I guess I have some explaining to do."

Beomgyu and Taehyun had decided to sit in the chairs next to Soobin's bed. Yeonjun had taken a couple steps forward, standing at the edge of the boy's bed. Anyone could tell that Soobin was nervous, his fingers still finding purchase in the blankets that the nurses had given him earlier. Beomgyu and Taehyun were both patient, their gazes nothing but soft.

"You don't have to say anything you don't want to. You don't have to explain yourself." Beomgyu slowly reached for one of Soobin's hands, taking it gently as Soobin met his gaze.

"Thanks, but ..." Soobin glanced at Yeonjun, the man now sitting on the edge of the bed. Yeonjun looked like he wanted nothing more than to reach out but knew that he couldn't. "... I feel like you both deserve an explanation."

Soobin made sure to sit up in his bed as best he could, wincing slightly when could feel a pull on his stitches. When he noticed the wince, Beomgyu was quick to reach out only for Soobin to wave his hand, motioning that he'd be okay. Taehyun made sure not to slouch, wanting to hear what Soobin had to say.

"I bet you're wondering why I was at the bar in the first place." Soobin's eyes tried to reach Beomgyu, but he couldn't help but look down.

"I mean, I guess. You were never one to go to bars, yet alone by yourself." Beomgyu chuckled at the end, reaching out to hold both of Soobin's hands. Soobin smiled before gently placing them in Beomgyu's.

"You're right about that." Soobin chuckled softly. "But I went there to try and figure something out."

Beomgyu remained silent, as if he was waiting for Soobin to continue. Soobin looked away from the boy in front of him to see Yeonjun still looking at him. He couldn't help but look in the boy's eyes, as if he'd been going through withdrawal for the couple days he was cooped up in the hospital.

"What were you trying to figure out?" Taehyun's voice was soft, trying to propel the conversation forward without being too pushy. Both Beomgyu and Taehyun could see Soobin looking towards the end of his bed, looking in that direction to see nothing interesting in particular.

"So, I ... I ..." Soobin gulped down his saliva as he took a deep breath, taking his hands out of Beomgyu's grip. "I've been looking into someone's death."

Soobin left it at that, not really sure where to go from there. He was trying to gauge Beomgyu's and Taehyun's reactions, trying to figure out if he should continue or not. When both of them stayed quiet, he continued.

"I just ... I have a suspicion that this person didn't die how the news says they did ... so I-I've been l-looking into it." Soobin couldn't help but stutter, trying to keep his anxiety at bay. Beomgyu and Taehyun still looked puzzled, trying to figure out what Soobin was getting at.

"Who's death?" Taehyun leaned forward, wanting to be sure he caught every word.

"Ummm ..." Soobin looked at both of the men, not sure if he was going to have the courage to say it. Knowing that both of them had history with Yeonjun, he couldn't imagine the reactions they'd have. He couldn't look up at Yeonjun either, not sure if he could handle the man's gaze at the moment. He took a couple deep breaths, trying to slow his breathing.
