Two weeks later

After hearing a news like that, Y/N did what most persons would've done

She ignored the fact well tried to by busying herself with work to avoid thinking about the situation

Not to mention smoking a lot at night before she goes home. She honestly did not know what to do. As a result of npt getting attention from her girlfriend, Normani went over to her grandmother's where surprisingly Keith was having dinner

Normani went to leave as soon as she saw him but her grandmother spotted her before she could. She put on fake smile and made her way over to them

"I just don't know what to do. How did you react when Beyoncè told you she was pregnant?" Y/N asked Jay as they sat in the office smoking a blunt

"To be honest, I was over the moon. We've been trying for so long so when I knew we were actually having a baby I was thrilled but you know I still had this feling. It was more like, am I gonna be a good dad? Will I treat my kid how I was treated grown up? What will happen...all these questions were all the the back of my head but the main one was. Am I ready? At the time I wasn't but I realized that whether I was ready or not, this baby is finna be here in the next 9 to 10 months" Jay said as he reasoned with Y/N

"I feel you. I guess that's what I'm feeling all these mixed emotions. But to be honest I never saw myself having kids...especially at 21 years old. I mean come on, she's 18 we aren't ready for this type of stuff" Y/N vented

"Well tell her that then"

"I can't" Y/n answered as she brought her blunt back between her lips

"And why not?"

"She doesn't know that I know...she thought I was asleep when she said it"

"Well hot damn..." Jay answered also bringing his blunt to his lips

"Is this normal?" Normani asked Lauren as the two sat in the bathroom

Normani on the toilet and Lauren on the edge of the bath tub

"I don't know, I've never been pregnant" Lauren said as she looked at the droplets of blood on her best friend's underwear

Normani was informed that she might be spotting by her doctor a week ago but this time it's way harder than it was and she was getting concerned

Even though she hasn't made up her mind yet on what to do with her little...situation, she still wanted to know if the baby was gonna be okay

"Let's Google it" Lauren said as she fished out her phone

"No cause then they'll probably say I'm dying" Normani said shutting down the idea

"So what're we gonna do?" Lauren asked loudly

"You need to go see the doctor" Ms. Barbara said at the door

She had heard enough information to put two and two together but she didn't want to be the one to break her granddaughter's heart

Following the old woman's wise words, Normani and Lauren made their way to her doctor's office for a quick consult

As Mr. Lewis came back with the results, his demeanor was anything but happy and perky as he usually was

"You don't look happy with the results" Lauren said pointing out the obvious

Normani gripped her best friend's hand in anticipation of what was to come

"I'm sorry Normani but you're currently having a miscarriage" Mr. Lewis announced and a sharp gasp left Normani's lips

The doctor smiled sadly before continuing "There's a procedure of be completed when this is happening and I have to get you prepped before you catch an infection"

A sob left the dark-skinned girl's mouth as it finally hit her. All Lauren could do was hug her and whisper positive words to her bestfriend

"Okay so I'm gonna tell her. I want to be with her and I'm willing to start and family with her. I got this, I'm gonna be a great mom...right?" Y/N questioned as she stood in the mirror

"You'll be fine, your just overreacting" she answered herself before brushing off her khakis

She heard the car pull in the garage and she rushed down to the dining room to light the candles to brighten up the room

Lauren walked in followed by Normani and the look on both of their faces made Y/N's grin drop

She immediately ran over to her girlfriend and pulled her into a hug. The contact made Normani start sobbing all over again

After a straight hour of crying, she confessed

"I was...I was pregnant with our baby. I was 4 weeks when I found out and today I had a miscarriage...I lost the baby and had to do a surgery to get rid of the baby's waste and tiny parts" Normani sniffled, tears still falling but not a sound leaving her mouth

Her voice was hoarse and her throat sore from crying most of the day

Y/N on the other hand was in disbelief. Just as she began to accept the situation this happens. She blamed herself for not speaking up earlier probably this would've been avoided

Normani also blamed herself for not making a decision earlier on whether to keep or abort the child. Probably if she was certain the baby would've still be alive

The couple sat in the living room holding each other as they stared blankly at the wall. The dinner getting cold and the candles outing leaving the area pitch dark.
