Clay POV
I woke up in my bed, although it was more comfortable than it had been for a while. When I felt my pillow start to stir, my face grew hot.

"Morning," The brunette Brit practically whispered. "Um, you, well you fell asleep on the beach and when I woke you up you seemed almost delirious and I drove you back here and brought you to bed when, well when you grabbed onto me and didn't really let me leave."

"Oh sh*t," I said. "I'm so so sorry, you don't even have a change of clothes and I—"

"No no no your fine," he started rambling as well. "I'll just go home before someone sees us so you can explain and then—"

His face turned a bright cherry red, a red I didn't know faces could even get. He looked straight passed me, eyes widening and startled.

"Hey," I started turning to look where he was looking. "What's wron—"

"George!" I heard Nick yell. "Let Clay sleep! He probably got home late after seeing his secret boyfrien—"

"Why are you two muffinheads yelling?" Daryl said, sleepily, as he was walking in.

"Hi," William waved sheepishly. "I should probably get going."

"You aren't going anywhere Will," George laughed. "Not until you and Clay tell us what secret romance you've been hiding."

"And here I thought I was his only love." Nick faked a faint, without actually going to the ground.

"Um, Will," I said. "Why don't you and Nick go to his bathroom and he can wash your clothes while you shower."

"Why don't I get a say in this?" Nick whined.

"Because I have to tell Daryl and and George something." I answered.

"What thing?" He questioned, when his eyes widened. "You mean the thing? Like the thing thing?"

"Yes, that thing thing." I rolled my eyes.

"And they won't mind?" He clarified.

"They can't," I responded. "And even if they do, well, it's gonna be too late."

"We don't." A short blonde said, appearing by me. I looked over to see Tubbo smiling.

"How could we?" Ranboo asked appearing by him.

"You're giving us the closest thing to Wilbur we can get," Tommy said appearing in front of them. "We trust you, and we trust those you trust."

"Besides you told Nick," Ranboo said, Tubbo elbowing him. "What? I'm just saying who's less trustworthy then him?"

"Gee thanks," Nick glared. "Come on, Will. Let's leave these losers and Daryl to talk."

"Are you as confused as me, Daryl?" George asked. "Because I'm very confused."

"Yeah, So am I," He said in return. "What's going on you muffinhead?"

"We live with five ghosts, there used to be six and I dated one until he died—well revived."  I said quickly.

"What a wonderful way to start the story." Tommy remarked, before tubbo elbowed him and nodded for me to continue.

"Oh that explains it," George rolled his eyes. "He's gone crazy."

"No," I sighed. "No, I haven't. You can ask Nick, I—I wish I was if I'm being honest."

"Rude." Tommy remarked.

"Oh shut up." I glared.

"Fine," He replied. "We have somewhere better to be."

"Who are you talking to?" Daryl asked. "Clay, what's going on here? I'm worried."

"When we first moved in, I was first, right?" I asked.

"Yeah," he started. "But what does this have to do with—"

"I walked in the house and there were six ghosts," I cut him off. "Three lived in the attic, two in the basement."

"We have a basement?" George asked.

"One of them lived—Wait George," I started, cut off guard. "You didn't know we had a basement? It's where the laundry room is."

"So that's where Daryl takes my clothes." He said in a wonder.

"Wait Daryls been doing your laundry?" I asked, crossing my arms. "Not fair."

"I do his dishes." He retorted.

"We're getting off topic, you muffinheads," Daryl chided. "As you were saying Clay? The last supposed ghost?"

"He lived in my room," I stated only to receive a look of implement from George. "We grew close and everynight he would come with me to the beach when we couldn't sleep. He had the guitar that was in my room."

"Ah so that was your secret boyfriend." They laughed.

"I—no—well yes—well it's complicated," I stuttered out. "Anyways, I'm a reincarnation of his past lover or something and well each life I've had I've died before I was thirty."

"Wait, hold on," Daryl interrupted. "Past lives?"

"Yes," I answered. "We each just keep getting reincarnated. The ghosts came from a place called the DreamSMP. It's like a myth to myths. We were walking down the road and—well—he pushed me out of the way of a car. Well he tried to."

"Wait so when you were in the hospital—that's when—you—" George started.

"Yeah, that's why." I answered. "He took me to Karl's and well Karl is from there too and some sort of a gods magic makes us remember him and stuff like that. He healed me but it cost Wilbur his memories and then he was revived and you guys remembered him but I didn't and yeah."

"So that's why when he walked in you looked like you saw a ghost." Daryl said. "Well I guess you did."

"I went out that night to the beach," I nodded. "William found me and for a few nights he was like my 'rebound' or at least that's what he thought. We were dating but not really and well. He broke up with me and I went through a—"

"Depressed burrito phase." Tommy cut me off.

"I thought you left." I glared.

"I came to grab a beanie," he responded. "Thank you very much. Goodbye Clay."

"Uh," George started, eyes wide. "Why can I see him."

"Because you believe Clay, b*tch." Tommy laughed leaving with his beanie.

"I see them too." Daryl interjected. "Well before he left."

"Then I guess I don't have to keep explaining," I said. "Me and Will basically made up and here we are. Oh and I told Nick already."

"Before me!?" George whined, putting a hand to his chest. "I'm hurt."

"Oh get over it," I laughed. "Let's go downstairs. Phil is making pasta."

"Oooooo!" Daryl said. "I'll see if he needs help."

After Daryl and Phil made food, Tubbo and Ranboo went up to go get Tommy from his room. William had long left and I was watching tv until I sensed something was wrong.

And I knew.

I knew before I even turned around. I knew when I heard that shaky breath. I knew when I heard those shaky words. I knew even when I heard the frantic steps down the stairs. I knew when I felt Nicks hand on my shoulder, and saw Tubbo's and Ranboo' tears start to fall.

That's why he went up and got that beanie. That's why he said goodbye.
That's why he wasn't downstairs with everyone else.

Tommy was gone, and he wasn't coming back anytime soon. How did what was supposed to be a happy story have to be so screwed.
