"All right little one, let's se what you can already do" my master said to Grogu "Try to get this rock to levitate"
The kid looks at us and then closes his eyes to concentrate after thinking for a few seconds, probably about the time he played with the Mandalorian's ship lever.

I watch the rock in front of him as he extends his hand, slowly it trembles at first and then starts raising in the air.
Luke nods "Good job. You already did get trained, didn't you?"
Like I did the day before I try to connect with Grogu's memories

The kid was sitting on a rock, near him there were the Mandalorian and a female of the Togruta species.
Grogu babbled
"Is he speaking?" asked the man "Do you understand him?"
"In a way" she answered "Grogu and I can feel each other's thoughts"

Just like Master Skywalker said to me to speak with him

"Grogu?" the Mandalorian said not understanding as the kid cooed
"Yes. That's his name"
The man studied the little one for a second
"Grougu" he repeated, now with a meaning, causing the kid to coo again and smile at him.
"He was raised at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant" continued the lady "Many Masters trained him over the years."

Wait, how old is this kid?

"At the end of the Clone Wars when the Empire rose to power, he was hidden. Someone took him from the Temple. Then his memory becomes... Dark. He seemed lost. Alone"

I let the memory fade away.

The Clone wars... The Empire rising... That was like 30 years ago. And if we count years of training before... The kid is approximately fifty?!

"Master I just connected with him, he did get trained... A long time ago. Based on my calculations he's like fifty years old"
Grogu babbles like if he was confirming what I said
"How is he still a baby"
"Kaira, you know that some species have different aging"
"I know, but it's so strange to know that he is almost twice my age"

I look at the child, still elaborating. He is smirking, sort of.
Great, now he is making fun of me.

"Can we get back to the important thing?" Luke says. I lower a bit my head smiling, wanting to say that I'm sorry.
"Grogu, let's do something different now"

*end of the training*

The Child walks away from us to go get some food, Luke Skywalker looks at him, then at me
"He's all yours now Kaira. You've learned everything you need to teach others. I trust you with Grogu"
"Thank you, Master"
"Hey, you can call me Luke" he says smiling.
We exchange a nod, then I follow the kid.

I eat some soup with the kid, who is having trouble with the spoon
"Don't play with it, do it like this" I say showing him how I take the bowl and drink from it. He copies me right away
"Good"
I wait patiently for him to finish
"Grogu, do you want to know my story?"
He turns excited. I'll take that as a yes.

"Okay buddy" I chuckle "I come from a planet named Tatooine, do you know it?"
He looks at me raising his years, which gives me the answer to my question.
"The city I was born in is Anchorhead, it's a city just like the others like Mos Eisly or Mos Pelgo. I don't have many memories of my childhood, but I know I was happy.
My mother is the person who raised me and I must say she did a pretty great job. She is kind and funny, and she always knows what you need to feel better, which is usually home cooked food. Let me tell you kid, you would go crazy for her pastries.
She knows a lot of languages and always knows how to treat with people.
I actually don't remember anything about my father, just a smile and a gentle touch on my cheek in my first months. My mom told me he died in an accident as his ship exploded while he was traveling. I actually don't feel a lot sad... Don't get me wrong, I do not enjoy it, but it happened so soon I didn't even get the chance to feel attachment to him.
Anyway, I lived my best life until a few years ago, when Master Luke found me and I came here to be a Jedi. Am I boring you? "
He still has all his attention to my story, I wonder how much he understands

" Where was I? Ah, yes, Jedi. During my childhood my mom noticed a few times that I had certain abilities: many times I kind of manipulated others to get something I wanted, like when my grandma allowed me to eat candies before dinner... I swear I didn't know I was doing it. Other times I made objects move in my sleep.
My mom never said anything, until I started discovering myself about my abilities, that's how I knew I was force sensitive"
To confirm it I make Grogu's empty bowl get on top of mine using the force.

"That brings us to the last years as a Padawan with Luke. I must reveal a secret, I always felt weird calling him master, you know? We are practically the same age, I don't even know why he didn't choose a younger apprentice."

The kid raises his hand towards me as if he wanted to tell me something too.
"Let's do something, I'll hear your story tomorrow. It's pretty late right know. Aren't you sleepy?"
To confirm my theory he yawns so I pick him up
"Let's go get some rest"
He manages to stay awake as I walk to his hammock.

I use the time of the walk to show him around the things he hadn't already seen, like the zen garden for meditation or where Luke stays - just in case he needed to ask for help if I wasn't available.

I step into the barn-like room and put him on his hammock
"Goodnight little womp rat" I say to him sweetly.
His eyes widen and a series of images from his memories appears in my mind, without me having to concentrate. Almost like we stepped next level in communication and we could talk through our minds

First a woman with curly hair and a mechanic suit surrounded by three tiny droids and a R5 unit
"Thanks the force!" she said seeing the child  "This little thing had me worried sick! Come here little womp rat" she picked him up grinning

Then of course the Mandalorian

On board of the ship
"Stop touching things" he said after Grogu had activated a switch. The kid didn't listen to him as he slowly reached again the switch in a challenging way. The ship started trembling until the Mandalorian turned fast to stabilize it.
A few minutes later the man found a planet to land
"Let's see. Sorgan. Looks like there's no star port, no industrial centers, no population density. Which means it's perfect for us. You ready to lay low and stretch your legs
for a couple of months, you little womp rat?

This kid truly was happy since he found the Mandalorian, memories of him keep flooding in his mind.
I look at Grogu seeing that he's already asleep. I smile.

"Night buddy, I hope you dream of your dad"
