[Quick A/N: in this chapter there will be some words in Italian, which is what I chose to be Kaira's native language. You will find the translation in the comments]

The Mandalorian led us towards a building that seems to be some kind of hotel.
"Is this where you live?" I ask him
"For today only, I have to get back home soon"
"Oh yeah, being ruler of Mandalor must be a big deal"
"Wait, how do you know that?"
"I communicate with your little man through memories, that's how I got to know him. One of them was the really boring speech of that guy Gideon about the sword you have. By the way where did he end up?"
"Prison"
I nod

We arrive at the Mandalorian's room, which isn't that nice, but good enough to stay for one night.
It has a bed and a couch
"Dibs on the couch!" I say
"No, let me"
"You're the one who owns this so you deserve the bed. You can share it with the kid"
He moves trying to reply but I don't let him
"Mando, if you don't want your ass to be kicked go sleep on the bed. I'll go for a walk then I'll come back. Grogu, keep an eye on him, will you?"
The Mandalorian sighs. I get him, I'm stubborn. As long as I live no one will make me lose an argument.

As I walk in the streets I think about how happy Grogu was to see the Mandalorian, and I can't help but smile a little before becoming serious again. I think about my family. It has been quite a while since I have spoken to my mother last.
She's probably wondering where I am, or what I'm doing... I have to call her.

I breathe in and out before contacting her.
After a few seconds a hologram appears, with her familiar figure

"Mamma!"
"Kaira? Tesoro is that you?"
I nod
"Oh my stars, you look so powerful, how have you been?"
"I'm good, I've been training a lot with Luke"
"Are you tired? Are you eating?"
"Everything is perfect, mom. I actually have great news: I'm not a Padawan anymore, my master thought I was ready"
"That's amazing! You are on your own then"
"Actually I already have an apprentice. He is so tiny, you would love him"
"Is he with you now at your Jedi school? "
"Jedi temple" I correct her laughing "And no, we are in Nevarro. You see last year I retrieved him from an Imperial ship and he had to leave his father figure to be trained. So I brought the kid to see him"
"That's so nice of you, I'll leave you to it then. Promise me you will call more often, okay? I'm so proud of you. Goodbye tesoro!"
"Bye mamma, and thank you for being you"

The hologram disappears and I put away my communication device.
I then make my way back to the room.

The lights are out but I can still see the Mandalorian sleeping on the bed with his arm around Grogu, that wakes up sensing my presence.

"Get back to sleep, it's just me" I whisper as I take off my cloak and lay on the couch, ready to close my eyes and rest.

It was surprisingly a good rest. Judging by the looks the room seemed awful, but it was quite comfortable.
I had a dreamless sleep, perfect for us Jedi. Dreams mean visions, and visions often mean something bad happening.

I stand up looking at the bed, where the kid is still sleeping, without the Mandalorian.
I see none of his stuff around.
"If that idiot left his son without even saying goodbye I swear to the stars-"
I interrupt the sentence as the door opens to let the Mandalorian in with something in his hands.

I look at him leaning on the wall behind him with my arms crossed.
He notices me but doesn't speak, causing me to question him with my eyes.
"Food. For the kid"
"You went for groceries with all your weapons... You sure have a strange creed. I thought you left for a second"

He doesn't reply

"Oh, not a morning person, I see"

I get my cloak and secure my lightsaber back to my belt.
I should wake the kid, Mando needs to go anyways.

"Hey, piccolo" I call him walking over "Rise and shine" He opens his eyes.
"Piccolo?" the Mandalorian repeats confused
"So he speaks!" I say towards the the man "Yes, piccolo. It means 'little one' in my family's language. You never called him with Mando'a nicknames?"

He shakes his head

"How would you say it Mando?"
"Ad'ika"
"Sounds pretty. You like it Grogu?"

The kid smiles happily babbling something.

I collect all of my things, putting my red toy ball in my pocket, trying to hide it from Grogu' s sight. He's obsessed with it.
I use my communication device to tell BB-4 to come here with the child's cart.

While I wait I look at the Mandalorian taking all the time he can to spend it with his son. Unluckily for him my Droid is really fast and arrives in a minute at the door, bumping on it.
I let it in.

"Hi BB, come"
"A droid?" the Mandalorian says with a disgusted tone
"You don't like droids? Don't worry, my boy here is the best. You won't even tell it is here"
The man still holds the child, causing BB-4 to beep.

"Let him be, buddy. It's his last moments with Grogu. You will play with him later" I reassure my metal sidekick.

We walk to the ship in silence, but not an awkward one. I had learned that the Mandalorian doesn't like to talk, and that's fine with me.
As soon as the Spark can be seen BB rolls fast towards it, happy to be traveling again.
"Don't leave without us buddy!" chuckling a bit I yell at it for it is already far from us.

We reach my ship and the Mandalorian lets Grogu down, before getting on one knee close to him.
I hear him mumbling something to him in a language I don't know, probably Mando'a
"Cuyir jate, ad'ika. Se gar Nusujii"
"Would you look at that! I see you took my advice of using other languages very seriously"
The man doesn't answer me, he's still concentrated on the child.

As he stands up again I feel something, and Grogu moves his ears worried too. Something is about to happen.
"Go in, now. BB let's get the ship started!"

"What is happening?" the Mandalorian says confused
"There's something dangerous coming, I feel it"
"What does it mean you feel it? Is it some Jedi magic?"
"Would you shut up and get to cover please?"
"I-"

The Mandalorian gets interrupted when the sound of a ship and blasts gets louder and louder. Then I see it. A Tie-fighter. And it is shooting at us.

"Fudge!"
"Fudge?" repeated the Mandalorian
"There's a kid here. I'm not gonna teach your son bad words" I yell as the ship is coming closer "Mando, get in if you don't want to be French fried by that"
He hesitates
"We'll come back to let you get your ship and go home, now come on Tin can!"
He looks at the Tie-fighter and then runs in.

"BB let's go! Now!" I say running to the controls as the Droid starts the engines.
I sit immediately grabbing the levers that control the flight.

"Sit here Mando" I say referring to the seat behind me "Hold the kid and don't touch anything. It's going to be a bumpy ride"

A/N

Hi everyone, first I would like to thank you for the reads.
Then I want to say that I translated the sentence in Mando'a on Google, so I don't know if it's correct. If someone here knows the language tell me in the comments.
See you next chapter!
