I JUST NEED A MOMENT TO CRY.
That ending was EVERYTHINGGGG and I'm genuinely proud of it from the Joel and Erick finally being together to the cute little car scene.
I think I can actually say that this was my favorite book that I wrote and it's the only one that I always had an idea for and the updates were always next day. I didn't want it to end because it was so much fun writing but I felt like it had to end where it did because everybody that deserved to be, happy ended up happy.
BUT LET'S TALK ABOUT JAX FOR A MINUTE...
OOOOUUUU. Okay so like when I first introduced him in the story, I LOVED him like his whole idgaf attitude was EVERYTHING and I lowkey wanted him and Erick to have their moment but the only reason I didn't let it happen was because him and Joel hated each other and Erick loved Joel so I had to make it so that Jax and Erick never really had their moment. They had moments but they never had THE moment yk?
Also when I was writing the last chapter I made him a complete ASS because I couldn't figure out a way to make him leave the house so I just made him act like a dick so he could get kicked out SKSKFKSK WHOOPS.
AND LASTLY... JOERICK
YOU CAN'T TELL ME THE ENDING WOULD'VE BEEN ANY BETTER IF IT WENT ANY OTHER WAY. FIRST OF ALL, FCK HIS PARENTS but we STANNNN Erick for sticking by Joel that whole time. AND THE LITTLE 'I love you' MOMENT?!?? I ACTUALLY CRIED WRITING THAT AND THE PART WHERE HE ASKED HIM TO BE HIS BOYFRIEND OMG LIKE I WAS IN A PUDDLE OF TEARSSSSSSS BRO.
BUT ANYWAYSSSS, JOERICK IS SUPERIOR AND THAT'S THAT.
I know I said lastly Joerick, BUT I CAN'T FORGET TO TALK ABOUT THE ICONIC OREO.
I NEED FRIENDS LIKE THEM. Joel was doing the absolute MOST in the entire book and they still stuck by him for it all. He really didn't deserve them.
And yes I know I was kind of egging on the whole idea of them ending up together in the end but idk it just didn't 'fit' to me like I like the way it ending with just Joel and Erick being the couple.
Last thing for real this time, I was thinking of maybe making a sequel of what happens next with Joel and his parents or Joel and Erick's relationship because I had a bunch of ideas for it but idk unless that's something you guys would be interested in? Idk
But yeah that's all I have to say. I hope y'all enjoyed reading this book just as much as I enjoyed writing it and yeah...
