Chapter 6

*Charlie P.O.V.*

   More time passed and soon I had grown to realize that I did like Chase as more than a friend. I was planning on telling him soon when my mom came and picked me up from the Davenport house. "Mom? What's going on," I asked. "Jasmine. Great to see you," Tasha said. "Same to you. Come on baby, let's go," she said waving me to leave. "Mom what's going on," I asked worriedly. "I have to go out of town for a while and you will be staying with your cousin," she gave in when she realized I wasn't going to leave until she told me. "Which cousin," I asked. "Kim," she said. "Well at least you know which cousin I get along the best with," I said. "Wait you're leaving," Leo asked. "It seems so," I said. "She'll be back in two months," my mom said. "Bye guys," I said waving bye.

    We got home and I packed a bag for the next two months and then mom drove me to Kim's place a few cities over. "Charlie hey. You're just in time," Kim said when I walked through the door. "For what," I asked. "I was getting ready to head to my karate lesson," she said. "Ok let me just put my bag down," I said as I made my way to her room. We soon arrived at the dojo and I was slightly shocked. "This isn't the dojo you took me to last time is it," I asked. "No I've switched dojos since you visited last," she explained. We walked in and there were three boys standing inside. "Hey guys I'd like to introduce you to someone," Kim said causing them to face us. "Whoa Kim. Who's your friend," the skinny one said. "This is my cousin Charlie," Kim introduced me. "Yeah, hi. That doesn't tell us why she is here," the short one said. "Charlie this is Jerry, Milton, and Eddie," she introduced.

    "Hey guys sorry I'm late," A familiar voice said. "Oh right on time I was just introducing my cousin to everyone," Kim said. "Oh hello. My name is," he began. I turned causing him to stop. "Charlie," he said in shock. "Jack. It's been a while," I said. "I'm sorry how do you know eachother," Kim asked. "Charlie was a good friend of mine before I moved here," he said. I stayed quiet, so he didn't even have the guts to tell them that we dated. "It's been too long," he said hugging me. I hugged back and when we parted I got a little snappy. "It's been two years to be exact. Hasn't it Jack," I snapped. "Whoa I thought you were friends," Milton said. "We were a lot more than friends. Weren't we Jack," I said. "Jack what is she talking about," Kim asked. "You still haven't moved on from that," he asked. "No Jack! You broke my heart into a million piece, over phone might I add. And just as I'm starting to heal and move on here you come waltzing back into my life, with you movie star smile," I said angered. "Hey I told you before that it wasn't my fault. My dad got a better job, I had to move away," he said. "I'm so lost," Eddie said. "Jack was my first boyfriend and when he moved away he didn't have the guts to tell me in person and break up with me," I said. "Charlie I'm sorry, but you don't think it was hard on me too," he asked. "You never told me that you dated my cousin," Kim said. "For one I didn't know you were cousins and two I didn't think it mattered," Jack said. "You two are together," I said in shock. "Yeah, but Charlie I swear I didn't know he was your ex," Kim said. "Well then I guess it's a good thing I've started to move on from you," I said before storming outside.

Two months later

    Finally I was getting to return home and I was so excited to see Chase again. "Someone is happy to get home," Kim joked. "Shut up," I said. "What do you think everyone will say about your changes," she asked. "You mean my body finally developing," I asked. "Yes and your new karate skills," Kim said. "I won't need to use that unless necessary," I said. "Honey are you ready to go home," mom called. "Coming mom," I called. "Thanks again, Kim. For everything," I said hugging her before leaving to join my mom.

    It was a Friday night so I called the Davenport house. "Davenport household this is Tasha speaking," Tasha said. "Hey Tasha, it's Charlie," I said. "Hey Charlie, what's up," she asked. "So I just got back into town and was wondering if I could come over and hang out with everyone," I asked. "Well it's just me and Donald right now, but if you want to come over and wait you're more than welcome to," she said. "That's fine I'll wait," I said. I rode my bike over to their house and knocked on the door. "There is a stranger at the door," Eddie said from inside. "I'm sure it's fine," Tasha said. Soon the door opened and I gave a small wave. "Charlie. My goodness look at you," she said. "I guess I do look a little different," I said. "Come on in," she said stepping to the side. "So where are they now," I asked. "Out on a mission. Eddie tell Donald to let the kids know that there is a surprise for them here," Tasha said. "Ok," Eddie said before disappearing.

    I hung out with Tasha for about an hour, and soon we heard voices coming from the hall. "Get down so we can surprise them," Tasha whispered. I slid off the couch and kneeled on the floor, hidden from their sight. "Mr. Davenport said that you had a surprise for us," Adam said. "I don't see anything out of the ordinary," Chase said. Oh how I missed his voice. "Mom what's going on," Leo said. "The surprise is more of a who than a what," Tasha said. "Ok who is the surprise then," Bree asked. "You can come out now," Tasha said. I stood up and they were silent. "Hey guys. I'm back," I said before I was suddenly engulfed in a hug. "Guys. Can't. Breathe," I said. "Sorry," they said letting me go. "Look at you girl. So beautiful," Bree said. "So I wasn't before," I asked. "Yes you were, I just meant I forgot how beautiful you are," Bree said. "I'm just messing with you Bree," I said with a laugh. "So how was your trip," Leo asked. "Well. I learned Karate, ran into Jack, found out he is now dating my cousin, and my body finally developed properly without the stress of Sarah," I said.

    "Whoa whoa! Jack as in your ex," Leo asked. "Yeah," I said. "And you are okay with him dating your cousin," Bree asked. "They are a much better match than him and I ever were. Besides, I've moved on," I said glancing at Chase. "Okay," Leo said suspicious. "Charlie your mom just called. She said you can spend the night if you'd like," Tasha said. "I would love to spend the night," I said with a smile. "Good. I'm going to get dinner started then," Tasha said.
