Alexei's P.O.V
Hi guys, I'm finally back. I hope that everyone is safe. Thank you so much for your patience. I had to take care of some things, so couldn't update. I promise to update regularly from now on. Enjoy reading this installment and see you on Thursday or earlier.
Zachariel had been busy preparing for the launch of his new company. Wednesday was the only day where the whole family would be free. So he picked that date. I started feeling sick Monday morning. I couldn't eat anything no matter how hard I tried. Zachariel had noticed my pain. He asked one of the chefs to prepare some soup for me. I threw my arms around Zachariel when he placed the bowl of soup in front of me. I hummed when I heard Zachariel say, "You should stay home if you are not feeling well, Alexei." Dominique gasped, then asked me, "Did you catch the flu, daddy?" I smiled at Dominique, then answered him with, "No, baby boy. I'm just a little dizzy, that's all. I'm sure that this delicious soup and some loving from your papa will fix me right up."
Genevieve giggled, then stated, "Get plenty of hugs from papa then, daddy." Zachariel sighed, then asked me, "Are you planning to go to work in this condition, Alexei?" I nodded, then responded to Zachariel with, "Yes, babe. I have back-to-back meetings today. It took James a lot of time to organize them. I can't afford to postpone them now." Zachariel kissed my forehead, then uttered before walking away, "Eat your soup, Alexei. I'll be right back." Jacques kept looking intently at me. I smiled at my youngest son, then said to him, "I'm fine, Jacques. Don't worry about me and eat your breakfast."
Jacques hesitated for a bit, then started eating. Zachariel handed me Aspirin and a glass of water when he returned. Zachariel massaged my head and shoulders to ease my pain. He hugged me from behind, then uttered, "Call me if your fever doesn't go down, Alexei. I'll come to assist you for the day." I grabbed Zachariel's hand, then said to him, "Thank you, babe." I started feeling better after a while. I was sure that I would survive the day without causing any incidents. Zachariel and I left for work after spending some time with the kids. Triton still hadn't found anyone to replace Madeline. Zachariel had decided to handle the kids' education for the time being.
I had one last meeting to attend by three o'clock. I was looking forward to going home after the presentation was over. I had hired a small architecture firm to design an archive and records storage building for the empire. My father was in dire need of storage space as well. So I decided to construct a building big enough to fulfill the whole family's needs. The owner of the company and his assistant greeted me politely when I walked into the conference room. Mike Meyers seemed eager to deliver his presentation. I didn't want to waste any time either, so I allowed him to commence.
I received a message from Zachariel the moment Mike started speaking. I had already examined Mike's design, so I decided to check the text. Zachariel was concerned about my health. I smiled while reading the love poem that he had sent me. I looked up when something landed by my feet. I frowned when I realized that Mike had let his marker slip out of his hand. Mike quickly walked over to me, then crouched down to pick up the object. Mike gazed into my eyes while grabbing the thing. He smiled at me, then uttered, "Sorry for the interruption, sir. It won't happen again." I chuckled when I realized that Mike had done it on purpose. He probably thought that I had no interest in his design. It was far from the truth. I was satisfied with the layout. There were only a few parts that needed to be modified.
Mike looked in shock at me when I started giving him instructions. He grabbed a pen and began writing down the information. James shook his head, then asked Mike, "How long will it take you guys to prepare the modified blueprint, Mike?" Mike went through his schedule, then answered James with, "One week, James. We will be ready to deliver the next presentation on Friday." I felt sleepy suddenly. I realized that I had caught a cold when my nose became stuffy. I decided to leave the room before my health got worse. I smiled at Mike, then said to him before walking out of the conference room, "See you next week, Mike." I was just about to walk in the direction of my office when Mike called out to me.
