Sooyoung pov:

"Sooyoung look, they're here!" Chaewon pointed to Yeonjun and Soobin as they entered the hall. Our school had reserved the hall at the chalet and I was impressed at their budget. Whispers of awe could be heard as they walked through the crowd. They walked towards me and Chaewon, waving excitedly. "Hi! Both of you look beautiful tonight." Soobin commented as he held Chaewon's hand. I couldn't help but stare at Yeonjun. He looked so handsome in a suit.

"Earth to Sooyoung~" He called and chuckled as I snapped out of my daydream. "You look beautiful tonight." He whispered and smiled, his eyes twinkling. I felt like I was going to melt into a puddle on the polished marble floor as my heart skipped a beat. Why did he have to keep doing that to me and giving me hope? Geez.

"Are y'all done flirting? Let's hit the dance floor already." Chaewon smirked as Yeonjun and I turned red. We headed to the dance floor as the music started playing. It was an upbeat song and we started to dance while laughing. It was a beautiful moment until someone had to walk over and ruin it.

Jiyoon.

"Yeonjun, let's go!" She chirped as I felt all my happiness drain out of my body instantly.

Right. He was her date for tonight.

"I'll get going now, see you later Sooyoung!" Yeonjun gave me a helpless look as he was being dragged over to the other side of the room by Jiyoon.

I couldn't help but look at them as they left. Jiyoon was wearing a beautiful gold dress that looked expensive and elegant. They looked like a perfect match and I walked over to the food table to get some food.

Even though I wasn't really hungry, it would get my mind off unhappy things.

The music changed to a slow tempo and I saw Chaewon and Soobin dancing as they looked so happy. They were staring into each other's eyes and I smiled to myself. Those two were truly a match made in heaven.

Yeonjun pov:

I couldn't take my eyes off her. Sooyoung looked stunning tonight. Her dress didn't have a lot of details, but when paired with her diamond pendant, made her look like a princess. I would've loved to dance more with her but Jiyoon pulled me away as I unwillingly dragged my feet to the other side of the room. Jiyoon smiled at me throughout the dance while I plastered a fake smile on my face. Just a few more hours and you'll be free Yeonjun I consoled myself as she walked over to the food table to get some fruit punch for us.

Sooyoung pov:

I finished my food and glanced around. Yeonjun and Jiyoon were missing. I didn't think much about it though. Jiyoon was probably hanging out with her minions and dragging Yeonjun around everywhere she went.

Feeling bored, I stood up and walked out of the hall. There was a garden outside and I decided to take a stroll there. The garden was illuminated by fairy lights and it looked so pretty. I ventured into the garden and saw benches there. I walked towards the bench and was about to sit down when I heard voices.

Quickly, I walked back from where I came from but I heard two familiar voices. Jiyoon and Yeonjun. What were they doing out here? "Babe, I love you," Yeonjun said as I felt a sickening feeling in my stomach. "I love you too," Jiyoon replied as they held hands and stared into each other's eyes. Since when were they so close? I had no time to think about it when I witnessed something that made my heart break. Jiyoon went closer to Yeonjun and they kissed.

I felt empty.

I ran into the hall and took my purse, almost running into Chaewon and Soobin. "Sooyoung, what happened?" Chaewon asked worriedly as I didn't reply to her and ran back home. Passing the garden, the scene earlier replayed in my head. Tears streaked my face as I unlocked my house door. I was breathing heavily and struggled to catch my breath. My mum was not at home as she went out with her friends for dinner in town and wouldn't be back anytime soon. I went up the stairs after locking the door behind me and collapsed on the floor of my bedroom.

I cried. Letting out all my emotions, I sobbed till I had no tears left to cry. Feeling exhausted, I lay down on the cold floor and stared at the ceiling.

I should've known. Why did I allow myself to be hurt time and again? Kwon Jiyoon I hate you. I hate you for bullying me, laughing at me because I was a nerd. I hate you for being so perfect. I hate you for how you kissed Yeonjun. I hate you so much, Kwon Jiyoon.

Chaewon pov:

I saw Sooyoung run out of the hall, tear-stricken. Something must have caused her to behave like that. "Soobin! She went this way. I think she went home." I called to Soobin as we rushed out of the hall as well.

And then I saw it. Soobin did too.

Jiyoon and Yeonjun were kissing in the garden.

Sooyoung must have seen that.

"Choi Yeonjun. What are you doing." I growled as I stormed towards the duo. No one hurts my bestie, not even Yeonjun. Yeonjun looked as if he was in a trance. "Get out of the way." I snarled as I pushed Jiyoon aside as Soobin and I stood in front of Yeonjun. He was so gonna get it from me. "Hyung, what were you thinking. Do you even know what you just did?" Soobin said as his eyebrows furrowed. "Sooyoung ran back home cos she saw this." Yeonjun looked as if he was out of a spell as soon as I uttered out Sooyoung's name. He groaned in pain as he held his head. "Huh? What am I doing here?" He looked around in confusion. What the actual-

"Wasn't I in the hall with you just now?" He asked Jiyoon as she had a strange look on her face. "The potion didn't last..." She muttered as Soobin and I gasped. "What potion?" I demanded as Jiyoon realised she said something she shouldn't have. "Noth- nothing." She replied quickly as I narrowed my eyes at her. "Tell me now." I gritted my teeth as she shrunk back in fear. "I gave a love potion to Yeonjun." She blurted out. "WHAT?!" Soobin, Yeonjun, and I shouted as I tried my best to stop myself from kicking her ass. "I wanted him to love me so badly that I spiked his drink when he wasn't looking." "You are crazy. I don't want to see you ever again. Please leave right now before I turn nasty." Yeonjun said as he winced from his headache. Jiyoon slinked away as I glared at her.

Yeonjun was having a hard time, but Sooyoung was too. "Where is Sooyoung?" Yeonjun asked worriedly. "Are you sure you don't remember anything?" My voice still had a certain edge to it. After what I saw, I wasn't sure if I trusted him. "I can only remember Jiyoon passing me some fruit punch after the dance and after I drank it, my head felt weird." He said, looking confused. "You and Jiyoon kissed. Sooyoung saw it and she ran home." "I did what?! Holy-" Yeonjun looked as if he was going to die. If I were him and kissed a snake, I would honestly feel the same. "I got to find Sooyoung and explain to her right now. This is so messed up." He said, running his hand through his hair in exasperation.

"Come on, I'll show you the way to her house." We ran to her house, not stopping once on the way. We panted as we stood in front of the door. "It's locked," Yeonjun said as he shook his head in despair. "I have the key. Sooyoung gave it to me in case I needed to go to her house." I replied as I quickly unlocked the door and we went in, hoping that Sooyoung was alright.
